I checked the memories and I didn't find this anywhere...

I'm having major problems with the eraser tool. It just will stop showing up where I erase suddenly! Like.. I could be erasing someone and suddenly it just refuses to erase. Where I erase shows in the picture by my layer though.. Any suggestions?

I'm using Photoshop 7.0
