Hey guys, I've been using this community for a while to get tips for icons and I thought I'd post 2 tutorials I just put in my journal. Both were done in Photoshop.

crop it and resize it to 100x100.

duplicate the bottom layer twice, setting both to "screen" in blending options.

add this gradient. it's a basic transparent/grey gradient in photoshop.

add a new layer, blending mode set to "exclusion" at 20% with the color #05459D.

add some text with the font "Chaparral Pro" in the color #A0A0A0 set to "screen" at 100%. i added a 2px line under the main text and smaller text in 2px below that.
