Tutorial...light textures etc

 First tutorial.....hope it doesnt suck. For PS7. Kinda image heavy.

Yes I know TBS icons are done to death but I've sorta gotta TBS theme going on in my lj...or i will anyway.

I started out with this image of Adam...kind of overused also I realise but its a class picture.

1. Crop the image to 100px by 100 px

2. Duplicate the base. Desturate this layer (Shift + Ctrl + U) and set it to Screen 100%

3. Next I used a light texture and set it to Overlay 100%...I think it was from teh_indy but if anyone happens to know where it was from please let me know! I then duplicated the desturated layer again and left it at Normal, but 46%.

4. I used another light texture (again I think its from teh_indy but feel free to correct me) and set it to Lighten 100%

5. I used a crumblingwalls brush and set it to Soft Light 100%. It doesnt make that much of a difference atm but it will later

6. I then used a default PS Brush (its a nautical star size 29px). I applied it in #FFFFFF and set it to Colour Dodge 100%. It makes it kinda pinky.

7. For the final touch, I wrote "Crush me baby" cos I was listening to You know how I do at the time. I used Garamound, 13pt, Anti-alias Strong. I then went to Edit > Transform > Rotate. Use the settings below (they should all be default apart from the third from the right).

8. I then moved this to the right hand side of the picture and this was the end result!
