Tom and Hilary Icon tutorial
Tutorial for PSP8
Well, my last tutorial was a flop so here's an easier one for you guys :D.
I'll be using
this picture
of Tom Welling and Hilary Duff from Cheaper by the Dozen.
I've resized (cropped) and sharpen the image into 100x100 size.
The picture is somewhat dark so I copy Ctrl C and just paste it (Ctrl L) over the background layer and set the blende mode to soft
light.
Paste it again and set the blend mode to screen.
Paste it one more time and set the blend mode to Color Legacy.
Here's what the layer palette should look like
Merge your layers!
If you think your image is too bright just lower the layer with the screen mode to a lower opacity. This is what I have
now.
Now >> Selections >> Select All >> Modify >> Select Selection Borders >> Click inside and uncheck anti-lias >> Border
width 5
Fill in the border with white.
Add a new layer and fill it in with #000040 and set the blend mode to Exclusion and duplicate it once.
Now take this texture by Thia 
and paste it over Tom and Hilary and set the blend mode to Hardlight.
Copy the background and paste it over raster layer 2 and set the blend mode to Softlight and then paste it over
raster 2 set the blend mode to Multiply at a 40% opacity.
