PSP8 Billy Boyd icon tutorial
PSP8 Tutorial for this icon:

Started off with this picture, cropped and resized it and got this:

1. Use unsharp mask (adjust->sharpness->unsharp mask) and used these settings: radius - 30.00 strength - 61 clipping - 7
and it should end up looking like this:

2. Create a new raster layer, and set it to Overlay at 46% opacity and fill it with the color #3F2E19.
->
3. Create a new raster layer. Set it to Screen at 58% opacity and fill it with this gradient. (sorry...not sure who it's from, if it's yours plz tell me.)
->
4. Next, copy the last layer you just did and set it to Screen at 16% opacity, but erase what's over Billy leaving only the backround with the slight gradient there. It just lightens it up a bit more. It should now look like this:

5. Next, use this gradient from
crumblingwalls and set it to Screen at 66% opacity and do the same as the last step. Erasing the parts covering Billy and just allow it to cover the backround.
->
6. Duplicate the last layer we did and set it to Screen at 24% this time. It should now look like this:

7. Next, create a new raster layer add this texture brush (don't remember who it's by) in the color #D3BFDD. Set it to Saturation at 100% opacity. and just erase the part over Billy's face.
->
8. Now, it's going to get a bit tricky. For this to look right, you have to right click and go to "copy merged" and then paste it as a new picture. It should look like your regular icon. Now, resize the image to 35%. Then, go to Image->Add Borders and add a 2 pixel border in white. The image should look like this:

9. Copy the small image you just made and position it where you want onto the regular icon. Like this:

10. Now, go back to the small version of the icon we made. We're going to resize it again. Resize it to 80%. The little picture should look like this:

11. Now, as you did for the other small picture copy it and paste it as a new layer onto the big icon slightly overlapping the other small picture on there. It should now look like this:

12. Next, add a new raster layer and add the text. I used Georgia font size 7 in white, and positioned it to where I liked. I changed the blend mode to Luminance Legacy set at 76% opacity. After that I added a shadow behind the text. To do that I went to Effects->3D effects->Drop Shadow. The setting I had it at were:

make sure you have the "shadow on new layer" checked. Put the shadow on and just change the opacity of the layer to 64%. And your end result will be this:
