make ur own textures... again
Here’s another quick way to make your own textures in a couple easy steps from any picture you have.

I did this in Photoshop CS. It should translate to PSP rather easily.
Here I choose a view through a rainy windowshield. I tlooked like an interesting view with lots of basic texture.

Next I picked an area I liked and resized to 100x100.

I duplicated the layers.
On the duplicate layer I did a Gaussian blur. You don't want too much of the original picture to be preceived.

I duplicated the blurred layer and set the blending mode to screen.

I duplicated the top screen layer and rotated it 90°.

And there you have an instant light texture from a picture.
And now let's apply it to a picture in a few diffferent ways.
Apply the Hard Light blend mode and adjust the opacity and get this:

Change the blend mode to color and adjust the opacity and get this:

Do a Gaussian blur, change the blend mode to Linear Light, and adjust the opacity and get this:

Just playing around with the Gaussian blur and the blending modes can create no end of light textures.
