Brush settings?

First time using a text brush in psp. I have one little question. I set the brush to a black color, step 32, size 50 and when I applied it over the image( I mean, on a new layer). The last line of text is a little blurry. Is it really supposed to look like that because the first line is clear enough to read? Or should I adjust the settings
Btw just to give you an idea, the icon I'm applying it to is one of Harry against the dementors in poa so it's a bit dark on the sides.
