Garnet FFIX Simple tutorial Photoshop 7

I've been helped out a lot with this community, so I figured that I would make a tutorial to help other people like I've been helped. This is my first tut. and its pretty easy to do and understand I hope.
We'll be going from thisImage hosted by Photobucket.comto thisImage hosted by Photobucket.com

Ok, first off, Here is the pic I started with.

this pic is relatively small, so I didn't need to resize or anything. You can if you want, but I simply took the Rectangular Marquee Tool, selected the part I wanted, and copied/pasted onto a blank 100x100.

1. After resizing or selecting the part of the pic that you want, copy/paste it onto a blank 100x100.
2.Next go to Layer-> New Fill Layer->Solid Color and enter #F3A100 and set it on Hue, opacity at 100%

3. Layer->New Fill Layer-> Solid Color and this time put in #FFE7A4 and set it on color at opacity 27%

4. Last time for this Layer->New Fill Layer->Solid Color and this time put in CC8900 and set it on Difference, opacity at 15%

5. Hooray, done with colors, Now we get to put a pattern in. You can copy and paste this onto your icon, but I suggest you copy and paste it onto a blank 100x100 and then go to Edit->Define as a pattern and then name it. If you do that, you can now use it anytime by clicking on the paint bucket and using pattern instead of foreground. Anyway, here is the pattern.

Set it on Screen at opacity 11%
I'm really sorry, but I don't know who made this pattern. I believe it was someone in this comm. so if you made it, please comment and tell me.
6. Now your icon should look like mine, just without any text, so lets put some on. I used Minion at size 24 with the color CC8900(though, with the style I used, the color doesn't matter),and I'm pretty sure it is a default font (as in, I didn't download it).
7. Time to add some style to your text. Style is on the same window as the colors, so it should look like Colors/Swatches/Styles. The style I used is called Frosted Glass which a close friend of mine made and gave to me. There are a ton of styles to pick from, but if you can't live without that style, email me(in my user info I think).
After all that, you should have this

I hope this was useful and easy to understand. This is my first tutorial so comments are appreciated and tell me if I left something out. Thank you
