Text question

I have Photoshop CS, and I'm having trouble making text appear horizontal, I mean like rotated 90 degrees and still be horizontal. Every time I do it regular then click the little arrow keys next to the style of font, it only makes the text vertical like this:

D

I don't want that. Can anyone help?
