Mod Post: Rules Reminder
Hi, gang!
I just want to remind you of some of the rules that are in our userinfo, with which you should all be familiar, because I'm seeing them broken a whole lot lately.
First: if your question has been answered, do not edit your post! Not everyone can easily read through strikethrough, and if you edit your post to say "nevermind" instead of having a question, or strike out the whole thing, it then becomes utterly useless for others and negates half the point of the whole community. Don't.
Second: This is actually a half-new rule, so pay attention. In accordance with LiveJournal's TOS and our "no illegal activity" rule, posts and comments which contain font files (yousendit.com, or AIM names, or what have you) will be deleted and the poster placed on our watch list. If you can find it for free online legally, a link to the appropriate dafont.com or other font site page should be sufficient; there will be no trading of font files on this community. (For those who are interested, there's a short legal discussion here but I'd ask that you take it easy with comments if you feel inclined to say something, because it's in my personal journal and I don't want it suddenly spammed with 5000 people.) I'll be updating the rules in the userinfo and FAQ to reflect this.
Third: While we're on fonts: all font id questions from here out are to be directed somewhere else entirely, like to
fontaddicts, which is very good at this sort of thing. In fact, they specialize in it. With a whole great whopping visual-guide website and everything. We don't. Posts I catch will probably be deleted.
As always, feel free to respond with any questions or comments.
