First tutorial!
My first tutorial! I'm gonna explain how to make this icon:

[EDIT] Tutorial for PS. :) [/EDIT]
1. Resize and crop your image, so you get a base.

2. Sharpen, duplicate the base twice, top [second] layer - soft light, bottom [first] layer
screen, contrast 20, desaturate.

3. New layer, set to Overlay and fill with #828282. New layer, set to Exclusion and fill
with #09005C. Image>Adjustments>Color Balance.
Where it says Color Levels at the top, have them at -62 +19 +86. Or you can play with your
own.

4. New layer, opactiy 76, Screen. Use this brush in #FBDDB7:

and you get this:

5. Arial Black, size 14, colour #FFEDED, Overlay:

[the font colour isn't good on the picture, I changed it later when I realised it's too
bright. You can improvise with your own colours, it all depends on the base.]
6. New Layer-Screen, use this gradient:

to get this:

7. Duplicate the base, put it on top of all layers and set it to Overlay. Then use the Burn
tool, go over the top layer as many times as you'd like. I only did once.

8. New layer, Screen, opacity 42, use this brush from jeweledicecream in
#FFEDED.

And voila!

Here is my layer palette, if you get confused.

If you found it helpful, please post so I can see what you have done with it. :)
