glowy stars

I looked through the memories and posts...but could not seem to find the answer to this. granted i might have missed it...if i did i am sorry

So i made the lil star brush.
But I cant figure out how to make it actually look like its glowing.
When I try it, it just looks like little stars flashing.

But i wanna make em glow!!!..*lol*

So if someone can tell me how this is done or point me to the tutorial that i might have missed it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using paint shop pro 8 and animation studio 3
