Going to make this icon:
Crop your image.
Get your base ready--duplicate and Screen/Overlay/Soft Light/whatever.
New layer, blue Exclusion. Lower the opacity to something that looks good.
New layer, black to white gradient. Put the black part where you want it darker and the white part on the focus. Set it to Overlay. You might want to try out different angles and stuff.
Next I added text in a greyish colour.
Then I added a text brush in the same colour in a layer UNDERNEATH the text. Then I erased it under the text and on his face.
Merge and do a dance.
Also used to make this:
Yeah, I just saw The Ring 2 last night, I'm kind of addicted. Haha.
