Text Tool Help

I use Photoshop 8.
When I was trying to use my Text Tool today,
it was messing up. I would type words on my
photo, and nothing would show up. In my Layer
Palette, it would show what I typed, so it knew
I was typing. I just couldn't see it. There
wasn't even a flashing cursor. I tried changing
the size, color, font, everything. I just can't
see any text. Can anyone help me?
