Well, I've been checking a few communities on tutorials and such, I checked the memories here, and I tried figuring it out myself, but I can't seem to figure this one out.
I'm trying to make a sort of...transparent box, that fades at the ends (for my text) on a banner. I use Photoshop CS (trial version >.<). Here is an example: http://img30.exs.cx/img30/148/brandonlj4td.png (taken from

I don't want it EXACTLY like that, but I want it something like that.
