Looking for a tutorial

I had a few tuts on this saved but they have since been removed or the step by step images deleted so I'm hoping someone knows of a good tutorial for this particular graphic. I use Photoshop CS5

How do you get that coloring and that faded/sponged look around the image? It looks so natural but when I do it it looks messy and overdone!
