I've recently been making a lot of animated icons for LJ.  I've been looking at a lot of tutorials on here, and have been making my icon bases following this tutorial.  I thought all was going well, until I noticed that the block of color isn't lining up properly behind my images in PS. It's always farther over by one or two pixels, even though I make it the exact same size as the image itself.

(I used pink here just to better show how the images don't align properly. Also, I usually make a border with/around the block of color, I don't just put it there to not use it and cover it up haha.)

This is what happens:

Using a base like this:

I know that I could just make the block of color behind the image white and be done with it, but I'd really like to find out why it's doing this in the first place.

I'm hoping it's something simple and I'm just missing it =/

lol random, but if anyone can tell me how to delete/get rid of an LJ cut once I've already made one (without deleting the entire entry), that would be awesome, too.  ETA: Fixed the cut, thanks :]

ETA 2: I've gotten it so that they will line up properly, but doing so leaves me with a strip of empty pixels. It seems (to me, anyway) that something isn't being sized, or possibly pasted onto the canvas,  the way I want it to, but I have no idea why.
