Summer Tutorial.

   

Go from this: To this:

Program: PS CS5 (Works fine in PSP)
Level: Simple Pimple
Methods: Colour Fill Layers

Other examples:

  



1) Duplicate your base, set it to Screen. This prepares the image for the vibrant colours later.
2) Next, to bring a touch of summer sunlight, add a very light yellow colour layer ( #fcf88d). Set to Soft Light and lower the opacity a little. 
3) To soften the colours, add a bluey/greeny colour layer (#227d62). Set it to Lighten.

You can stop there but I went ahead with these next few steps:

4) Add a brightness/contrast layer and set contrast to -100. EDIT: -50. It just calms the greens down a bit.
5) To emphasis the pink, add a very light pink colour layer (#fed2f0). Set it to Colour Burn. And just roughly erase everywhere surrounding the pink skirt. (If need be).

And you're done!

I've only included the colour codes as a guide for this particular image. Make sure you adjust them to your own image - it'll make the work your own. (:
