Made in Photoshop 7
Translatable?: No, involves selective coloring
Difficulty: Easy
PSD: yes
Note: Works best with dark images ^^

1. To start things off, I'm going to try to lighten up my base by using Curves:
RGB:
Input: 114 Output: 134
</p>

2. To help add a bit more color to the face use Color Balance:
Midtones: 10,0,-6
Shadows: 12,7,7
Highlights: 2,5,-5

3. Now to add a bit of contrast to your icon, make a new fill layer, and fill it with E5F7FC and set to Color Burn 100%. If it turns out too contrasted, then just lower the opacity to fit your icon.

4. Again, adding more color overall to the icon, use Hue and Saturation:
Master Saturation: 15

The next few steps will help brighten up your dark/yellow images.

5. So now do another Curves as this will lighten up your image, especially when it seems too dark:
RGB:
Input: 109 Output: 138

6. Now add this texture:

And set to Softlight 55%

7. This step is probably the most important, as this changes the coloring the most. So use Selective Color w/these settings:
Reds: -30,10,1,-18
Yellows: -40,-23,-23,9
Magentas: -100,55,100,100
Whites: 39,18,26,7
Neutrals: 13,1,-9,-5

And you're done! :)
