An Ian Tutorial
To make this ->
I found the image of Ian at http://www.livejournal.com/community/lost_daily/31087.html#cutid1
1. Crop the image using your rectangular marquee tool at fixed aspect ratio, width and height both at 100
2. Duplicate the image, turning your top layer to hard light.
In Ian's case with the resulting image, I also played around with the Dodge tool around his eyes, to make them pop out a little but I ended up with the textures covering up the effect *g*
3. Using this texture ->
I pasted it into a new layer above Ian's image, I then turned that layer into Hard Light at 100% opacity
4. I then duplicated that layer, turning this one into color dodge, once more at 100 %
5. My final layer was done by pasting this image ->
into a new layer and turning this one into color at once more 100 % opacity.
After merging layers, I sharped the image just once and voila the icon you see at the top of the page :)
Please dont use the icon, I kind of want it to be my own for a while :)
Edited to add... the first texture was made by
im_glas and the second is made by
reyesphile
