Super easy PSP 7 tutorial
Tutorial for this icon:
To follow this tutorial, you must have at least some knowledge of blend modes and layers. I wrote this tutorial mainly for beginners and for people who don't know how to use textures. So, I hope this will be of some use to somone. :)
For this tutorial it's best if the background of your picture is a solid colour, but it doesn't have to be.
First things first, get your picture, crop it and resize it down to 100x100 pixels.
Touch up base with soften tool.
Sharpen once.
Then, go to Effects > Enhance photo > Automatic contrast enhancement. Set to (Bias) lighter, (Strength) Mild and (Apperance) Bold.
Copy and paste THIS texture. Set to screen 100%
Dup base layer, bring to top, set to multiply 26%, erase some parts of your background that may be covering the texture.
Use THIS texture, set to soft light 100%
Dup multiply layer, bring to top
Use THIS texture, set to screen 100%. Erase parts on focus of icon.
Then add your brushes, text and whatever else you want.
This may not work for every single picture out there, so if you don't like the end results, just play around with it until you're satisfied.
Note: All textures used in this tutorial were made by me. You're free to use them in any other icons you'll make, but please credit me in your resources page. Thank you. ^-^
If you all liked this and found this easy to follow, I might write up some more tutorials for more complicated icons.
Also, if you make an icon with this tutorial, I'd love to see what you come up with! Comments are most appericated. ^_^
