Font issue?

Hey, I seem to be having a problem with my fonts on Photoshop 7. They're all writing in all caps, even when I tell them not to. (Yes, I've checked the caplocks button.) It'n not even like they're just all caps, either. The letters that should be lowercase are smaller than the uppercase letters, but stil capital. I've tried the good old method of quitting and restarting, but no dice. Can anyone tell me what (presumably obvious thing) I'm doing wrong? Thanks.
