Zooming in (Photoshop CS)

Is there a function available whereby when a picture is magnified, another window(?) opens up so that you can see how the changes made in the magnified state look when back to its original size?

If you don't know what I mean, look in MS Paint, and you'll see that in the "View" tab, in the "Zoom" menu, there's an option called "Show Thumbnail".
