Question about uploading icons.

Hey, guys. I hope this hasn't been posted before, but I haven't seen it recently. I also wasn't sure where to find it in the memories.

Anyway, when you upload an icon that you made in Photoshop (for example) to Photobucket (example again), it looks... different. The colours look off, and because I'm a perfectionist, that bothers me a lot. I was wondering what do you more experienced icon-makers do to counter this problem? =) I normally add a new adjustment layer for Brightness/Contrast, but I'd like to know if there's a better way.
