Choose a background of your choice, then images of your choice and arrange them to your liking on your background. (Mine are Blair/Chuck from Gossip Girl.) You can either use the blending modes, or a soft, round, eraser brush to blend, either one you prefer is fine. (I set my images to Luminace and lowered the opacity on both images and used the eraser brush.)

At this point, once your finsished blending, you need to apply your brushes, text and coloring. I used a scratch texture, speckle brush, and tweaked the coloring a bit. Once your done, Merge Everything!

OK, now your ready for the torn paper effect.

I took the lasso tool, set it to freehand and just went around my final project creating a torn/ripped paper look. Now, cut and paste the selection as a new image. We're going to create the shadow effect by going to the drop shadow menu, using these settings. Verticle: 2 Horizontal: 0 Opacity: 100 Blur: 4.00 and this color #400000. Make sure the shadow on new layer box is "UNCHECKED." (You may want to duplicate the image a few times to darken the shadow, but that is up to you.) Your Done, but DO NOT MERGE YET, if you want a transparent background.

To make sure and get the transparent background, go to edit, copy merged, paste as new image, then save copy as.. I saved it as a PNG file.
