1) Duplicate your base and set to screen. Mess around with opacity since not all icons have the same lighting.

2) New fill layer- Fill with 8c8c5e set to Softlight.

3) New fill layer- Fill with ffffa6
Now it resembles throw up. Ew.
4) Adjustment layer- Selective coloring with these settings:
Red: -100 54 +100 0
Yellow: 0 0 25 0
Neutral: -54 17 -41 23
Oh my god prettyness!
If it's too light, then you can Duplicate your base, bring it to the top and set to softlight. :3
Add textures and all that good stuff, and you're done!
If you want to continue on:
5)Adjustment Layer- Selective Coloring:
Neutral: 0 100 0 0
SET TO SOFTLIGHT.
Now your done! I'd love to see your results!
