Anything I mentioned in my previous purimgifts letters still applies, especially about shipping. The only really important things are:

If you’re writing for Legends of Tomorrow, just know that I haven’t watched the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover (and probably won’t get to it before Purim), though I am aware that Oliver is dead. I haven’t been keeping up with the Flash or Arrow either. And if you’re writing for Brooklyn 99, I’m currently a season behind, and that’s not including the one that’s just started. (I think I’ve seen through season 5?) I don’t mind spoilers, as long as your fic doesn’t require me to have seen these episodes to understand what’s going on in it.

Hurt with comfort, slice of life/domestic stuff, OT3 and shipping, slash and femslash, Gal Gadot (#bae), any character played by Christian Kane, crack, falling in love, wooing, royalty AUs, sailor moon/reincarnation AUs, dystopias (and "how would Jews survive in this world"), mermaids, dragons, giant Legends of Superflarrow crossovers, Felicity Smoak, Uncle Iroh, ladies kicking ass and taking names, Tad Cooper, bisexuals [Sara Lance, Callie Torres, Korra, and Asami], memes, breaking the 4th wall, CONSENT -- especially when they're really getting in the mood and one character says "stop" and they stop, fix-its, episode codas, and true love's kiss.

EXTRA: So I didn't put this in my fandom requests because I'm really picky about this show and I didn't want you to get stuck with matching only this fandom, but I do like Supernatural. Also, I'm only about halfway through season 12, so as long as I don't need to be caught up to understand it, I'll read it. Two exceptions: d*stiel is a NOTP of mine (I'm writing it like that so I hopefully won't pop up in any searchs for it), and if either that pairing is included, or Claire has more than a passing mention I won't read it. Otherwise go nuts; Jewish hunters, Jewish lore, lady hunters, whatever. (I'm a Sam!girl) I also freaking love when Spn goes meta

So recently (read: a few months ago *cough*) I downloaded a gba emulator onto my iphone and got reobsessed with playing pokémon, (in my defense, this time it was Emerald, and it's different from Ruby and Sapphire, so... yeah), and one thing about the games is that, in-game, the player character is supposed to be about 10 years-old. Fine, whatever, I don't need to be voting or drinking or idek, but sometimes it's probably better that I'm underage because I'd probably get myself arrested for public indecency.
Anyways, my point is that these others NPCs all think you're a 10-year-old child so they'll come up to you all "pssh, I won't lose to a kid!" or "what's this kid doing here, let me share my vast wealth of knowledge with you," or "aww, you'll be easy to beat because you're a kid," or "how did a child like you foil my plans!? I'VE NEVER EVEN HEARD OF SCOOBY DOO ASDFGHJKL!" And I'm like, "bitch, who you calling a 'kid'!? I've been playing Pokémon since before you were even a pixel in your creators' eyes! Oh, and what is this, the 81st time I'm defeating you?" (yes, I get really invested in these games.) And it annoys me because unless you've linked up with RL friends, it's all being chocked up to luck and the "great bond you have with your pokémon," rather than the fact that I'm just really fucking awesome at it.

So yeah, that's what I've been doing with my time lately. XP

Also LOL, today was supposed to be my first day back for classes after winter break, but my college is closed for snow. HA HA, BEST; GOING BACK TO SLEEP NOW.

I've been in fandom for over 10 years, and the one thing I still don't get is Transformers!mpreg.

It's not a rule 34 thing or even a YKINMK thing, it's a "how is that even possible, I thought they were made not born" thing. I mean, yes, mpreg in general obviously requires some extra suspension of belief if it's in a completely non-supernatural world, (such as, I dunno, Criminal Minds--it's on tv right now) but I still understand humans getting pregnant. How do transformers even get pregnant!?

As usual, I'm pretty easygoing when it comes to fanfic, as long as the ending is happy and my ships aren't broken up (or they get back together), though I do love the angst. And crack. Even if it takes me a few months to comment back, I will always ~~eventually~~ read fic that was written for me. HERE is the tag where you can find my previous purimgifts request letters, and my likes/wants have generally stayed the same. Jewfic is always a plus.

In terms of TV spoilers, I'm gonna say that anything that aired in January 2013 (or earlier, obvs) is fair game, but anything that airs in February I may not have seen.

You can write genfic or OCs, and I'll be totally fine with that as well, but here are some pairings that I do not want broken up, if applicable, and other things of note:

Hunger Games-- Finnick/Annie, Katniss/Peeta; as long as these two pairings, if mentioned, are not split up, I'll love it. But feel free to otherwise go crazy in the HG 'verse.
MCU-- Loki/Thor (I know this probably won't be relevant, but if you end up writing fic that happens to have Thor and/or the Avengers in it, I don't want Thor paired with anyone else please), Erik/Charles; I haven't seen either Hulk movie though, so I don't know if I'll be able to appreciate fic written about it. I loves me some Darcy. Also, Coulson lives and Mystique is awesome.
Once-- Snow/Charming, Rumpelstiltskin/Belle, Regina/redemption; I've also a fondness for Emma/Regina and Emma/~~Sebastian Stan!~~Jefferson, so yes please if you want to include either of those
Sailor Moon-- Usagi/Mamoru, Haruka/Michiru, optional: Rei/Minako :D?
Grey's Anatomy-- Derek/Meredith, Callie/Arizona, Christina/Owen (yes, I know they're going through some issues, but I prefer them together) Denny/Izzy; I don't care that he's dead and she's not even on the show anymore, I love them together sfm.
Disney Princesses-- I'm a fan of the established canon pairings, and The Little Mermaid is my favorite
Doctor Who-- Amy/Rory; I love River Song like whoa, I don't get Martha/Mickey, but the only pairing I really detest is Jack/Ten
Community-- though I do like Jeff/Annie, I know it squicks some people, and I don't have a serious investment in the ship
Tamora Pierce's Tortall-- I'm a fan of the established canon pairings, though know that I have not finished the Beka Cooper series
Charmed-- Piper/Leo, I don't really follow the comics/season 9/whatever, just the show itself.

Oh my god this is so much and I'm so sorry; I'm almost done, I promise!

though it's not on my list, I also like Glee. The reason I haven't requested it is because I stopped watching after season 3, and I don't want someone to be matched up with me, look at the above wall of text, say "holy... screw it!", and still be limited because the only thing they want to write is Glee. As long as knowledge of season 4 isn't completely necessary, and Brittany+Santana aren't broken up, it's all good.

So, as you've probably gathered, I survived Hurricane Sandy, but not unscathed! (~~WHY YES, I DO LIVE IN NEW YORK, THANKS FOR ASKING. I CAN'T IMAGINE HAVING FORGOTTEN TO MENTION IT BEFORE~~) Our power went out Monday afternoon, and then came back Monday evening, so I had planned on making a post Tuesday morning when I woke up saying "YES I AM STILL ALIVE AND OKAY. HI," but then our power went out again at some point during the night and stayed that way.

And when my mom calls up ConEd, they tell her we probably won't have power back until the middle of next week. Luckily, we actually got power back at some point Friday morning, but as we (the family) were already going away for the weekend, we couldn't really enjoy it for too long.

The ~~best/~~worst part of it is that my college opened up again last Thursday, but their internet connection was still down, as was the school website, which they had taken down for maintenance Friday before the storm. So anyone without internet at home still couldn't get online and check on the status of their classes. Or, in my case, that my first class was cancelled because my teacher couldn't make it in.

School is hectic as usual, as is my daily babysitting job, and I have almost all-day Sunday classes, so I don't really have much time to myself to just blog. But to end on a lighter note, I PASSED MY EMT EXAMS! 4 FOR ME!

In a few hours I'll be taking the NY State EMT exam. ~~jesus take the fucking wheel~~ I took and passed the practical on Monday (yay), so I'm halfway there already, but OMG.

The one downside to this class (shut up) is that it's made reading fic more difficult. Not in the finding time sense, but now a character will get whumped and I'll yell at the screen "tension pneumothorax!" and it'll be all like "nah, just some bruising" and I'll be all "but tension pneumothorax fits the symptoms so well...". I had more that I wanted to say, but my hands wont stop shaking, so I think I'll get back to studying. The good news is that once I sleep the weekend away, I'll have real free time again! But that's how I roll; I panic first.

Because I'm always complaining about my mom, I thought I'd open with an example of her awesomeness this time:
We went to see Magic Mike a week-and-a-half ago (~~beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeefcake unfunfunfunf~~) and had a good time together. Also, we were the only two in the theater, because we saw it in the middle of the day, so we were able to make catcalls and other inappropriate comments at the screen. Yeah, my mom can be cool like that.

Now, some of you may be wondering, "wtf iceshade, I thought you said you were taking an EMT class this summer; shouldn't you be, uhh, there and paying attention instead of blogging?"
Well, yes.
Unfortunately, I'm trapped in my house (theoretically) by a broken garage door, so I can't actually get there. I'm only theoretically trapped because I can still get in and out, but the car is still inside the garage and can't. I don't know if this is luck or not, but I had to leave a little early yesterday because I wasn't feeling well, so hopefully they just think I'm (still?) sick. IDK. Other than that, I'm enjoying myself; my ambulance tour-thing is next week, so, yeah, I'm both excited and terrified for that.

In fandom news, tumblr (and ontinia) are starting to get me into Teen Wolf. Or, to be more accurate, they are getting me into Sterek (fucking pool scene I can't even), and I discovered that the cast/crew/producers/whomever actually acknowledge and pander to their fans. I'm sorry, but after being part of Torchwood fandom circa CoE, I kinda have a weakness for that. For lulz, I actually went into this thinking Derek was the main character, and I couldn't believe they expected us to believe he was in high school... then I actually watched an episode. LOL OOPS.

So it turns out I lied about being online more this summer (~shocker~), but to be fair it wasn't a lie when I said it. There was a last minute cancellation or something, and earlier this week
I GOT INTO THE EMT CLASS I'VE BEEN WANTING TO TAKE SINCE FOREVER!It's really hard to find an EMT class that's in my general vicinity and doesn't A) conflict with my schedule, and B) have Saturday classes*. So instead of taking the comp&lit course I was planning on taking this summer, which was only somewhere between 2 and 3 hours every Mon. thru Thurs., I'll be taking the EMT CLASS FUCK YEAH, which is 7 hours every Mon-Thurs.

I swear I have a good excuse this time! I've actually been sick on and off for the past two weeks, and for the three weeks preceding that I was doing an intensive fellowship program at my old HS (which I may or may not have mentioned here).

In other news, eldarwannabe graduated, holy shit you guys! Go send her love and stuff. I'm transferring colleges and hopefully taking my placement exams tomorrow, but once that's done I should be able to be slightly more active on here (dw/lj) and finally finish some of my fics. (ELL-OH-FUCKING-ELL) My mom's been reading 50 Shades of Grey which has resulted in some hilarious anecdotes on my part.

Dear purimgifts author,

I don't really have much to say, as I'll probably be happy with anything you write me, I'd just like to note that I prefer to laugh rather than cry. Also, let's talk spoilers, since I know two of my requested fandoms (Glee and OUaT) are currently airing new episodes and Community is eventually coming back this spring, AFAIK, but I don't know exactly when. Anything that airs after what would be considered the Valentine's Day episode (or after the week of the 12th-18th) please don't spoil for, as I don't always get to watch the episodes right away. Unless it's a revelation that a character is Jewish so you can write about them.

Other than that, I just have a list of pairings I request you don't split up. By no means do you have to write these specific pairings (gen is fine too), but if you write about these characters, I would prefer them not to actively be with other people.
in order of the fandoms in my signup: Katniss/Peeta, Finnick/Annie, Snow/Prince James, Amy/Rory, Usagi/Mamoru, Kurt/Blaine, Brittany/Santana, Erik/Charles
(the only pairing I really dislike is Jack/Doctor, so please avoid that)

So I keep seeing this thing for Black March, and it sounds like a great idea, but then I remember Hunger Games movie, and I have no willpower because I have been planning a midnight premiere party for that movie since opening day was announced. Fail. (and I've already pre-ordered Sailor Moon 4)

Also, I love the fact that in response to the US government shutting down Megaupload, Anonymous shut down justice.org and the MPAA site yesterday.

fannish5: 5 characters that don't (or wouldn't if it existed in their universe) celebrate Christmas.

1. Rita (Doctor Who) - the most awesome Muslim this side of the universe. She's religious and a woman of science (med student) and the Doctor wanted to take her on as a Companion and I loved her.

2. Annie Edison (Community) - she's Jewish, (and going to christmas parties with friends is not ~celebrating christmas~, it's being a friend)

3. the entire Avatar: the Last Airbender universe - I don't think there is organized religion there the way we think of it

4. Pickles family (Rugrats) - also Jewish. Also THE BEST because Rugrats gave us Chanukah and Passover specials instead of Christmas and Easter ones. BOO YAH.

5. Spock (Star Trek) - One: I'm a fan of the fanon that Amanda Greyson was Jewish, and two: I don't think Vulcans celebrate christmas anyways. They probably have some form of yearly winter celebration on the Enterprise though, where you can choose what holiday you want or don't want to celebrate.
