- I'm currently on sick leave, because... I broke my little finger on my left hand on tuesday.
Can you imagine how much fun typing is right now? ;P
The "best" thing is that I took a look at my finger, thought "huh, this looks weird." stared a bit at it, and then proceeded to work. I mean, I suspected that it was broken, but then the swelling began, and it didn't look weirdly bend/curved anymore, and I was wondering if I imagined it all.
AND it wasn't too painful either. When it happened I didn't feel a thing (thanks, adrenaline), and shortly after I just thought "ouch, ouch, OUCH, ouch, ouch!", and then it was fine again.
I worked for another 5 hours or so before I went to the hospital, because of the swelling and the bruising.
ah well. Healing process will be 4 - 5 weeks, so that'll be fun...


- The Bates Motel finale aired, and, if I'm honest, I was disappointed by it.
I still love love looooove season 1 - 4, but season 5 overall wasn't it's best. It had good and even amazing moments, but overall? Meh.
Rihanna was super wooden, and the wrong choice for Marion (as temporary as the character was), and overall I think the thing they did in S4 was done too early, and shouldn't have happened until S5, and don't even get me started on the Romero storyline for s5...
Ah well, what's done is done, and I'm still getting the all seasons box set once it comes out.


- I didn't mention it, yet, because I'm fail, but I got a new computer, yay! :D
I saw an amazing online offer, and decided to get that. But it turned out that the store made a mistake, wrong pricing, and they actually cancelled my order!!! :(
I complained to them, because a week later, I noticed a review for the product where someone mentioned that they got the computer for the offered price. SO I WAS MAAAAD. Sadly all they did was offer me a gift card over 50 Euros, which was better than nothing, BUT STILL.
Anyway, in the end I got my computer from amazon. Found an amazing warehouse deal for a similar computer, and it was offered for less than the first one. So in the end, everything was good!
I mostly bought it, because I wanted to be able to play the latest video games, like Mass Effect Andromeda, which I wouldn't have been able to play on my old computer.

Man, I'm terrible at updating this thing. Every day it's like "today I'm going to update, yesss!"
and every day I end up procrastinating it until another day.
IDK. Can you forget how to update properly? Because I think that happened to me. I want to update in the evening, but then I watch tv, play video games, or simply fall asleep, so it has to wait until the next day... and the next day... and the next day. Terrible, ugh.
And that's why it's already more than a month since my last update, AGAIN.
I meant to update on my birthday, BUT YOU SEE HOW WELL THAT WORKED! I haven't even replied to birthday messages I received, because I'm a terrible human being. (But I'll get to that after this update. BUT THANKS, IN CASE I DON'T! *LOL* )

Anyway, I think one thing that also stumped me this time is that I actually promised pictures the last time.
And somehow that always stops me from posting, IDK.

I don't think I've talked about work recently. My work contract was renewed until middle of may.
Then I'm 2 years there, and you can cross all fingers and toes that I hopefully get a permanent contract! :D
(Signs are good, everyone wants to keep me. So far I've been lucky and didn't need a sick day, which improves my chances. And boss lady is actually teaching me more and more districts, because the more I know, the better the chances of me getting a permanent contract. Simply because they can argue "but look, she's so flexible, she can work in almost every district!" XD )


In tv news, I've been reeeeally looking forward to Big little lies.
I read the book in January, and couldn't wait to see the adaption. It didn't disappoint. It might have been a little bit slow for anyone who doesn't know the book, but I think the casting is brilliant, and it can only get better from here? :D

also, yay, Bates Motel is back tonight! :D


I actually don't know what else to say. So for now, this is it! :P
And hopefully getting these pictures out helped me to "relearn" how to make entries! XD

I still owe you guys an update.
So ... where do I even start?

- I played more video games recently.
Played through Borderlands 2. I was actually really into that, and I still have the DLC's to play through. I got the pre-sequel for like 3 bucks, so I'll try that one sometime this year, I'm sure.

I played Uncharted 1 and 2, and started 3. 3 was up to a good start, but then Borderlands took over, and I abandoned Uncharted. I'll get back to it eventually.
My one "big problem" with the game is that I'm not into the romance plot. They want you to ship Nathan/Elena, and ... I simply don't. Maybe game 3 can sway me, but I kinda doubt it.

Speaking of Uncharted... I kinda inherited my brother's PS3.
He has a PS4, and hardly used it anymore, and since he lives in an apartment above mine, he practically gave it to me.
Technically it's not mine, but I doubt he's ever going to say that he wants it back... and I still get good use out of it, so yay! XD

- I'm excited about Mass Effect: Andromeda. I'm wondering if I should replay Mass Effect 1 - 3 before it comes out.
The answer is probably yes :D


- in tv news, I guess the biggest "news" is that I'm really over Arrow? IDK, it happened during the Damien Dhark storyline. I constantly fell behind, 5+ eps. Caught up, same thing all over again.
Currently I'm... yep, 5 eps behind, again. I'm probs going to catch up, but I'm not sure if I should continue, since my interest in the show is seriously lacking right now.

- There's a lot of shows that I was interested in, but never even started. Like Conviction or Pitch.
But looks like both of them are doomed anyway, so it's like... why bother?
I also tried Luke Cage, but stopped after the pilot, because it was too slow for me, and I simply couldn't get into it at the time.
I'm going to give it another chance, but I'm not sure when.

- No tomorrow and Speechless are probably my fave new shows of the season. No tomorrow is just adorably charming. (and being able to look at half naked Joshua Sasse from time to time certainly doesn't hurt either.)

- Bates Motel is back next month, and I'm excited. It'll be terrible and awesome at the same time, I'm sure.




- I saw that there was another LJ panic. Every couple years it's the same thing. OMG, LJ IS DOING SOMETHING TERRIBLE. LET'S BACK UP OUR LJ'S AND MOVE OVER TO DREAMWIDTH!!!

Except for... work was much busier than I expected, and I haven't been online anywhere else either.
Pretty much abandoned everything. I only kept up with twitter, to get some news.
... and there was the moment where my computer stopped working, but it was fixable, and nothing was lost, so there was that.

Yeah, still here.

Work was super busy the last few weeks, and I've been online much less in general, but I still can't believe that it's been ages since I've updated this thing.
Every day I was like "TODAY! ... later! ... oh, whoops, it's the next day!"
BUT I'm back for real now.

I'll write a more detailed update tomorrow, just wanted to say hi for now.

- Couldn't sleep last night. So at 1.30 I had the smart idea to watch something on netflix on my tablet.
Started House of Cards. The pilot was great! Really loved it ... but watching it at 1.30 was a mistake :P
I wanted to watch mooooaaaar. Thankfully I was able to stop myself.
Didn't actually sleep much. But I surived the day either way.

- speaking of House of Cards.

Someone please tell me that Frank isn't going to sleep with Zoey.
After the pilot I wouldn't think he wanted to, but Zoey is the sleazy one who would, so... IDK.
SOMEONE TELL ME!
And yeah, I know what's going to happen to her. This is the one big spoiler I've actually seen in gif form *lol*
and I'm not even sorry about it ;P


- this show also solved the mystery of "Where did Corey Stroll suddenly appear from?!" because everybody seemed to know him when the Strain started, and he was a completely "newbie" to me XD
But House of Cards would explain it some. He's still not my type though. You guys can have him.

- In RL news, I applied for "housing allowance" (... is that the correct term? IDEK. I HOPE SO) in august, and I got the approval at the beginning of september.
It's not THAT much, but it's a huge help. It means I have a little bit more money that I can try to save or that I can spend on little frivolities.
It's approved for a year for now, and after that I'll have to reapply.

Hi, sorry for the unexpected hiatus.
I didn't plan to disappear, but it just sort of happened. Life, distractions, and my tendency to want to be alone when I feel sad.

I'm fine, the new apartment is good, still not 100% done with it, but I'd say about 85% is finished?
There's still stuff I have to go through, sort out, throw away (mom's stuff, really). Kinda neglected that. Really haven't been in the mood to even go there in the last month.
But overall it's all good/fine, and I'm slowly trying to get back into the swing of things.

- Thanks for all the messages you guys left. I appreciate them. I didn't really reach out to anyone, because I didn't feel like talking about it.
I'll get back to you guys, eventually.

- I haven't really been around LJ (or most of social media, really). I read stuff, but didn't really comment anywhere.

- Today would have been mom's 70th birthday... and she died 2 months ago. So that was hard.
But work is a good distraction.

The Good:
The move went well, we're still busy getting rid off old stuff/throwing stuff out. But overall it went well. Nothing is missing, nothing is broken.

The Even Bader:
The day of the move (Saturday) we had to call an ambulance for mom, because she was in so much pain.
She has been in the hospital since, and she's been doing worse every day :/
We hope she'll recover, but she might not.

And yeah, that's ending this entry on a super depressing note, but I'm not sure there's anything I could say to make it less depressing. It's a pretty serious situation.
