Rant

What is it with bands and only playing London?
Panic! at the disco are playing 3 dates in London in October, My Chemical Romance are doing a one off gig before Leeds/Reading in London, Brand New are only doing one date this year, in London, and Panic! are doing a secret gig in a few weeks, in London.
It is just getting stupid.
I'm getting to the point where I'm nearly crying about how unfair it is.
Yeah, fair enough, London is the capital, but how hard is it to do more than one date? Or at least vary it?
Especially for Panic!, why isn't their secret gig somewhere else other than Londons, seeing as theyre playing three dates in October.
It is getting the the point where it is simply riduculous.
I am now told that Taking Back Sunday are doing a warm up gig, yet again in London.
I am sixteen years old and I live in Manchester. I am too young to travel to London on my own and you'd have thought with Manchester (arguably) being the second capital of England, that at least one band would play up here?
I'm not even asking for bands to play just Manchester, rather than London, but simple to do one of two gigs up here.
Also, most signings are down south.
I can't even remember the last time a decent band did a signing anywhere near manchester.
I know I'm not the only fan who finds it difficult to get to gigs because they're always in London.
I'm just getting sick of it, I have friends who live near London who get to got to many many more gigs than I do, because bands rarely play up North.
London isnt actually any bigger than Manchester, Manchester is larger because of greater Manchester and all the suburbs, so you can't argue that there are more people.
I just think it is starting to get beyond unfair.

I really liked this graphic because i wanted to make something of Ryan using the quotes about him from kerrang! cause theyve made me even more obsessed with him.
So i make it and then decided it could be my new layout.
Yeah im not good at coding and i still cant work out how i get rid of the adverts at the side and make it less stupidly wide and less stcuk in the center.
But it is all i have for now and if you dont like it screw you :P

This set is very Ryan heavy.
And also my first set to feature anyone but Panic! at the disco.
Seeing as i am mildly (okay completely) obsessed with Liberation Transmission, there are 5 Ian Watkins icons in this set.
I am sorry there seems to be ... a lot of Ryan and not so much Brendon or Spencer ( and also no Jon this set, sorry :() this is just a mishmash of all the icons i've made over the last few weeks, it isnt a set where i made icons specifically to be posted here.

My first tutorial- Ryan Ross

I am very excited about this!
This is my first tutorial and the first time i have been asked to make a tutorial for any of my icons!
This tutorial was requested by andnightsgrow.
It's not exactly the same as the original because of the cropping and whatnot but it's pretty damn close!

We're going from ----> in 14 steps.

Not incredibly image heavy but a basic knowledge of your programme would help.
Made in Photoshop CS2 but I'm sure could be easily translated.

1. I started out with this picture of the yummy Panic! at the disco.

2. I cropped Ryan ( because he is a fittie) out to 100x100 pixels and sharpened him (filter-sharpen-sharpen)

3. Then i duplicated the layer and set it to screen

4. You may be thinking "oh my god he's all white arrrrrgh!" but worry not, this icon is going to look quite odd until the end. Make a new layer, and fill it with #114168, a kinda bluey, and set to exclusion, 70% opacity.

5. Now to make him look even more odd and for you to think I've done something wrong, add another new layer, fill with #8bbee1, and set to softlight (100%)

6. Now for the fun bit.
Select all the whole icon, then copy merged, and paste as a new layer on the same icon.

7. Set this new duplicated layer to colour burn

Now doesn't that look pretty?
If you like, you can stop here, but if you want the cropping of the original icon, follow me...

8. Resize the image ( image size) to 70x70ish pixels.

9. Now use the Rounded Rectangle Shape Tool ( set to "pen tool") and create a rounded rectangle shape over the icon you've made. Then right click and select "make selection", select OK and then copy.

10. Create a new 100x100 white canvas, and paste this rounded icon as a new layer.

11. Now go back to the original icon, and keep pressing "step backwards" until you get to the point where the icon has gone far enough that it is back to 100x100 pixels in size.

12. Then make a long thin selection of the icon ( i would recommend the face) and copy and paste this as a new layer onto the canvas you made before with the rounded icon on.

13. You can't see it on here, but delete any areas on your icon that touch the outside of the canvas, by selecting them with the rectangular selection tool and hitting "delete"

14. Select a colour from the icon ( i chose some of the dark blue in Ryan's hair) and either use a tiny text brush, or add your own tiny text in this colour.

And you're done!

In celebration of the opening of my Panic! at the disco garphics community- swingthe_focus i have decided to get the ball rolling by posting a few graphics.

I wanted to post some icons, but my last set was only up about a week ago and I'm feeling really unispired at the moment.

Oh, by the way, this is my first Friends Only banner, and i had no idea what size it had to be or anything, so if there's anything wrong with it, please tell me.

I am going to start a graphics community cause lots of people have said they would join and it would be cool to have two.
But the annoying thing is, i really wanted mildlyinspiring as the title but it seems it's already someone's journal name, and cause LJ is ghey you can't have the same name twice even if one is a journal and one is a community.
So me and Beck have narrowed it down to 6 possible names for the community.
If you can think of anymore, that's awesome, but i really want Panic! lyrics that relate to art or creativeness or something.
Oh yeah, and it has to be 15 or less letters.

As I am always told i don't make enough ( or any) Spencer icons, i have made 5 for this new set, and I have also made for Jon icons, for the people who are supporting him out there.
I also have added some icons which have been entered in panic! icontests, i have included ones that haven't placed as well as the ones that won awards.

This set contains 33 icons ( my biggest set so far) and i hope you enjoy them.

Got some ear studs from afflecks, a skirt and 2 tops.
Had sushi.
Booked AFI tickets.
Still trying to convince parents to let me go Liverpool next week.

I'M A CABBAGE!

Went out last night with Jenny, Alix, Luke, and J.
It was the most fun ever.
We have decided we are the "core" of our group.
It soudns really mean but, it was like, we all felt really close and that we could be really honest.
We didn't really know what to do at first cause we were gonna see a filn but we couldn't agree on what to do, so we made stupid videos for ages and just messed around for about an hour and a half.
And then it was between going seeing The Omen or going to Pizza Hut.
Luke didn't want to go to Pizza Hut but Jen didn't want to see the Omen, and then we found out it wouldn't finish til 11.50pm and that was a bit late.
But Jen, Alix and me hadn't had any tea and we were hungry so we went to Pizza Hut.
And we talked like, loads. And we were really honest, and Luke even briefly mentioned his bulimia, even though he doesn't do it anymore, and we felt really close.

We were being really really honest with each other and saying stuff we wouldn't normally have said if other people had been there and that's when we decided that this was a really good group of people. We ended up being the last to leave Pizza Hut. But Luke wanted us to tell secrets but me and jenny weren't comfortable about it.

I nearly told them cause it would have been a good time to be honest about everything, but i decided against it.

Ooooh LUKE ♥ ALIX!

He told us that he loves her, adn then he told her later and but she didn't really know how to react so she said she just laughed.

Then Luke wore my jacket for a bit and i wore his, cause everytime we go out me and Luke swap jackets.

And then we listened to Alix's phone and sung along really loudly to "Together we Are One" - the song Luke played and me Jen and Soph sung at leavers mass.

And then we were messing around at the zebra corssing in the carpark and i decided we should play river crossing- you know where you have to get the goat, the cabbage and the wolf across the river?

So we played that for a bit and at one point Luke ( who was the man) sent me and Jen across (she was the wolf and i was the cabbage) opn our own and i said " You can't send us across! We can't row! I'M A CABBAGE!!!"

And it has ended up being the funniest thing ever.

So we ended up having a really good night and we all feel really close now, And we were being honest about how we felt about otehr people, not just bitching about everyone and it just felt... nice.

So we went to town today- me, jen, luke, alix and j.

That was fun.

I got 2 studded belts from Primark- a red one and a black one- for £1.50 each!

Then we went to Afflecks for like, hours!
We went on all the floors and it was pretty much deserted- it was totally great.
Janine is an Afflecks convert haha.

Then we went to Starbucks for lunch and me and luke got vegetarian paninis and went halves on them which was cool.

And then we went to selfridges.

We got a bit stressed by the end cause Jen was going to Luke's cause they were going to Rocky Horror tonight, and then J and Alix were gonna get return train tickest and come back to Stockport with me, then get the the busses home. But they decided to get the 157 which goes nowhere near me, so i rung my mum and she said she'd pick me up in Cheadle Hulme at 4.39. But it ended up being that we missed the bus that would have got me there for 5 so I ended up getting the train home on my own.

And i've got trains before obviously, but not on my own, and i was so scared I was going to get on the wrong train or something, plsu my feet were all cut up by this point by my flat shoes cause i had footless tights on.

But i ended up being okay on the train and then mum was gonna pick me up but she got held up so i go the bus home.
And now i feel all independent.

AFI tickets go on sale tomorrow and me and my uber amazing cyber twin el brianio (Lauren) are gonna go, but it's the saturday after Jenny's birthday, and i feel really bad, so i've left ehr a myspace comment asking her if she wants to come with us, or if not, does she mind me going.

hmmm... i dont think it will be her scene at all, but i really want to go.

Lauren has invited me to a party in Liverpool next week, but im still mid-begging at the moment, cause my parents don't know her but she is amazing and we were on the phone for an hour and a half yesterday and she's probably one of my bestest friends now and besides, i've met her and that's what matters.

Hmmm...

I hope I'm allowed to go.

ear pierced

I had to go to the scary tattooists by myself!
Claires needs an adult with you and they stopped piercing at 4.30pm and Mum couldn't get into Stockport til gone 5 so she said she'd spoken to Tony the tattooists and he will do it so long as you have proof you're over 16. And i was detirmined to get it done, so off i went.

So i got there and the guy was outside and he asked me what i wanted doing and i said my mum had rung up and he asked me where i wanted my ear piercing and showed him. He asked for my proof of ID and i showed him my over 16 card and he asked me to fill in a form.

The he gave it to this big scary guy who took me into a room, and i told him how scared i was and he said it was nothing. So he asked me did i want silver or gold (silver of course!) and then he put a purple dot on my ear and asked me to check it was in the right place, then he just ... pierced it! It hardly hurt at all!

Then i was completely high, paid the fiver and trotted off to ring mum and dad.

I was on such a high i went into Music Zone with the fiver change from the tenner and decided i would buy any rock CD that was under a fiver. I got Sum 41- All Killer No Filler, which i've wanted for years.

I ended up having no money for Starbucks but it was okay.

My ear started to really hurt my that point, so i waited for mum and we went into Boots and got some stuff adn i got an application form. I had a go at mum at first cause ir eally want to work in Borders, adn i asked in there adn they said there would be some stuff available in the next few weeks, but mum's right at the end of the day, i might aswell start working in boots and get some money in my pocket.

So that's about it.

Me and Jen haev been together all day and it's realy rekindled our friendship.

Can't decide if i've fudged up geoggers or not.

Oh.

Came third in panic_challenge and got peoples choice in chemicallims

I don't think i have anything more to say.
