Hesham's Expertise
Hesham is the Co-founder and CEO of FasterCapital, the world’s first borderless online accelerator and incubator. Under his leadership, FasterCapital has grown into a global ecosystem with over 1,000 regional partners, 1,100 mentors, 500 offices worldwide, and 300 partnerships with incubators, accelerators, and venture funds.
To date, FasterCapital has supported more than 1470 startups, helping them raise over $2.7 billion while investing $1.1 Billion directly. Hesham himself has invested in a wide range of successful ventures, including Twitter, Zomato, SpaceX, Edunoor, Dooet, Letuscloud, Mobayle, Meody, ABCmob, TVlize, Nakkeb, BeamGift, PickTaxi, MobAdv, Bazarmaker, Entablet, PinProfile, mp3ready, BookThatBook, Newsanalyse, and many others. He also serves as a mentor to more than 50 startups worldwide.
Before FasterCapital, Hesham founded ZGroup Mobile in 2002 with less than $20 per month and grew it to a valuation between $2.5 million and $3.25 million by 2005, when the public company Incagold plc entered exclusive talks to acquire it — a deal that would have marked one of the first public-company acquisitions in the MENA startup ecosystem. ZGroup Mobile became a leading developer and publisher of mobile games, apps, music, and video services.
Hesham began coding in 1989 using BASIC, moving to QBASIC in 1992, and has been developing software for over 35 years.
Ranked 7th nationwide in Syria’s Baccalaureate exams among 200,000 participants, Hesham went on to earn an Engineering degree from HIAST, followed by an MBA and DBA from Edinburgh Business School, and a Master’s in Computer Information Systems from AABFS.
