THE NEW ARCHITECTURE OF DEFENSE

BAKER ENGINEERING × HYPERCRAFT

A Strategic Coalition for the Electrified Battlefield

The era of fragmented defense modernization is over. By uniting Baker Engineering’s pedigree in battle-hardened manufacturing with HYPERCRAFT’S next-generation propulsion, we are delivering the definitive pivot the warfighter requires.

December 8, 2025 – Baker Engineering, LLC, a premier provider of high-performance engineering and manufacturing solutions, today announced a collaborative agreement with Hypercraft, Inc., a pioneer in hybrid and electric drive systems. This strategic agreement establishes a framework for the two companies to jointly develop, market, and field advanced hybrid-electric vehicles (HEVs) specifically designed for the rigors of future defense applications.

As the Department of Defense accelerates its transition toward electrified platforms to enhance tactical mobility and energy resilience, this partnership unites two distinct industrial strengths. The collaboration will leverage Baker Engineering’s established manufacturing capabilities and engineering pedigree alongside Hypercraft’s cutting-edge advanced propulsion technologies.

“This collaboration combines the precision manufacturing and engineering depth of Baker Engineering with the agile, scalable hybrid-electric technology that Hypercraft has perfected,” said Luke Wackerle, President of Baker Engineering. “By leaning into our respective strengths, we are positioning ourselves to deliver a disruptive capability that meets the military’s demand for extended range, silent mobility, and ruggedized power generation.”

Under the terms of the agreement, the companies will exchange technical data and evaluate emerging defense requirements to identify opportunities where a combined hybrid approach offers the best solution for the warfighter. The partnership focuses on closing current capability gaps by creating platforms that offer the logistical benefits of liquid fuel with the instant torque, mobile exportable power, and silent operation of electric drive.

“We see immense value in working together to explore what is possible when you merge battle-ready engineering with next-generation propulsion,” said Brian Bowers, CEO of Hypercraft. “This agreement allows us to present a unified front to defense customers, ensuring that our solutions are not only technically superior but also commercially viable and ready for rapid deployment.”

The collaboration will see both firms pursuing specific contracts and project structures where their combined expertise can provide a distinct advantage in the design and delivery of hybrid defense vehicles.
