Because no trusted servant should have to use their personal Tax ID.
Created by our Fellowship – Unity
Built by home groups and their members, we provide a secure, fellowship-led service for cash and digital collection, protecting treasurers’ anonymity without requiring anyone’s personal tax ID.
Supporting Trusted Servants – Service
From passing the physical cash basket to electronic registration and payments, we provide a complete treasury solution that scales from your local home group to districts, area assemblies, retreats, and more.
2½-minute video about transforming the treasury commitment.
“Our group conscience desperately wanted to add digital options for the basket, but as treasurer, I wasn’t comfortable using my own tax ID to set it up. This platform gave us the exact solution we needed. It protects my privacy 100% while giving our members the flexible, modern options they’ve been asking for to keep our group self-supporting.”

Valued Service Entity
This Central Office is a program service entity, not open to the general public. We ask groups, events, and offices to contribute an amount commensurate with the financial services provided. Because groups vary in size and meeting frequency, Homegroup.Online does not set a fixed dollar amount. Instead, we rely on the honor system, self-support, and voluntary contributions. Learn more.
Your group or office is encouraged to contribute an amount that reflects the customary cost of the following services:
- Maintaining The Legal Entity for group and office treasuries, Homegroup.Online doesn’t require an EIN or Social Security number. HGOL files a tax return with the IRS incorporating all HGOL accounts in aggregate. Offices and groups who already have an EIN have the option to continue or discontinue its use.
- Maintaining National Bank Accounts covering all banking expenses, eliminating overdraft fees, hidden fees, or any other banking fees.
- Maintaining all Electronic Payment Processing accounts eliminates the need to manage PayPal, Venmo or any other account, also eliminating the burden of rotating treasurers and the bank account(s) associated with these accounts.
- Maintaining the Websites and Payment Portals for the accounts, including domain registration, SSL certificates for security, and all other expenses associated with the websites and user interface.
- Members Volunteer Hours coordinating all the services above, providing exceptional service to the treasurers, groups, and program offices that support the Homegroup.Online Central Office.
Not yet self-supporting, volunteers are relied upon to perform these professional financial services. To help offset the shortfall, a low fee of 0.9%, less than a penny on the dollar, is applied to contributions. When HGOL becomes self-supporting, the fee will be eliminated.
In the tradition of self-support, HGOL services are available only for members of 12-step groups and offices.
Activation – Accounts are assigned to a Group Representative, typically the group treasurer. The treasurer’s name, date of birth and mailing address are needed to receive a personalized CHASE® Bank ATM card, however, their social security number is not required. Contact information is also collected for a Permanent Group Member as another point of contact if needed. Begin the registration process here.
