Title: Proofreader
With a Bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Master’s in Translation Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, I bring a strong linguistic foundation to my proofreading work. I have completed two courses in proofreading with distinction and have used my newly improved skills in volunteer opportunities such as proofreading my translated work and doing volunteer proofreading for Distributed Proofreaders, ensuring texts are polished and ready for e-book conversion.
Currently, I am a literacy tutor at an elementary school, fostering a love for reading and writing in young learners. In addition to my tutoring, I volunteer as an ESL tutor, supporting non-native speakers in their English-learning journeys. In addition to my tutoring roles, I'm gaining hands-on experience by assisting a friend with proofreading her blog. This opportunity allows me to refine my skills in proofreading for punctuation and grammar errors, consistency, and spelling while working on diverse content. When I’m not immersed in texts, you can find me reading or knitting. I am passionate about the written word and committed to helping others communicate their ideas.
