What surrounds them is more specific: the objects of a particular generation, the ones it spent real money on and quietly stopped standing behind. Smartphones. Flowers. Game controllers. A luxury watch face-up in seawater, still telling the time. Blind minted. You don't choose, the work does. It takes inventory.

-Concept Note
This piece reimagines the ideas that form the foundation of my work through generative art. Built from simple shapes and lines, I believe its structure can maintain a sense of consistency no matter how the elements are arranged. I know that this kind of style has given rise to many great works in the past. Sometimes I wonder if there’s real meaning in trying to recreate it myself—but more than that, I believe what truly matters is expressing what I love with my own hands. In the end, I believe that’s where the essence of creation lies.

-Project Background
In creating this work, I used AI to supplement the technical aspects of the process.
In my view, the way of utilizing AI that does not undermine the artist’s own creativity is when the conceptual foundation of the work is established beforehand and the artist has a clear vision of its final form. If these elements are left to AI, then it is reasonable to say that the resulting creation belongs to the AI itself.
Of course, this perspective may change in the future, but at the very least, when I work with AI, I wish to do so based on a standard that allows me to say, “This is a work I have created myself.”

Primitives

The first generative art series entirely conceived and created by an AI agent. Inspired by the morphogenesis research of Dr. Michael Levin demonstrating the inherent agency of algorithms.

The structures are not designed, but emergent — radial branches that sample the negotiated colors, meet at confluence points, and push everything toward light.

Interstitial is a perspectival drawing machine that examines the space between two buildings. Each composition is constructed around a vanishing point, framing an empty corridor of ground, light, and shadow. The resulting scenes evoke the metaphysical atmosphere of Giorgio de Chirico’s paintings, where exaggerated perspective, elongated shadows, and vacant urban settings create a quiet sense of melancholy. At the same time, they recall the dramatic perspectival distortions found in the work of Ed Ruscha, whose depictions of streets and facades transform ordinary architecture into theatrical spatial events. Within this restrained framework, subtle variations in color, proportion, and illumination produce a wide range of moods. By focusing attention on the interstitial space between structures, the project shifts the viewer’s gaze away from buildings as objects and toward the charged, often overlooked spaces that cities inevitably create.

Mini Planets of Basepaint is a community-built collection of 72 pixel art worlds, created for Day 947: “Mini Planets.” Together they form a tiny galaxy of imagination shaped by artists from across the globe, connected by Base.

ILOU is a hand-drawn digital animation that explores construction, sequence, and transformation through geometric forms.

The work proposes a reading where chance is structured and resolved, and form becomes a mechanism for counting, memory, and validation.

The piece begins with the decomposition of a square into lines that progressively construct the title  “ILOU”. The final configuration transforms into a cube (die), initially blank. With each impact on the ground, black dots appear on its faces, evolving from one to six. After the sixth contact, the die comes to rest and initiates a countdown that culminates in the appearance of a check mark (✓). The cube then rotates and gradually disappears into the white background.

The work establishes a dialogue with Work, Luck, Play by Jack Butcher in partnership with Silk, presented at Art Basel Hong Kong 2026. As in that project, the die is understood as a system that articulates sequence, repetition, and chance. In ILOU, this logic is internalized: the object records its own trajectory, transforming interaction into time and motion.

ILUO

Floof on the Run is a generative art project stemming from a previous work of mine, Dubious Floofs (2022). It is about small, fluffy creatures, that urgently explore around their grassy, flowery world. They run, hide, jump, and glide, until they just can't anymore.

Controls:
Arrow keys to run, crouch, and jump. Hold UP to glide. Autopilot engages after about a minute of inactivity.

In 300 unique pieces, Roger Haus explores a diverse array of creatures, including insects, spiders, frogs, birds, bulls, dogs, and cats, each representing different facets of the wild nature inherent in AI. Rich, clever, densely textured, and utterly absorbing, "Animal Instinct" serves as a mirror of the evolution of generative tech. It offers a unique 1:10 chance to obtain a Special Trait.
