Millions of Americans oppose SOPA and PIPA because these bills would censor the Internet and slow economic growth in the U.S.

Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House, would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business. Millions of Internet users and entrepreneurs already oppose SOPA and PIPA.

The Senate will begin voting on January 24th. Please let them know how you feel. Sign this petition urging Congress to vote NO on PIPA and SOPA before it is too late.

Scenery and Production Design: A Legion Picspam

I have a thing for dark apocalyptic thrillers so I freaked out when I first saw the trailer for Legion. It quickly became one of my favorite movies. Plus, I love Paul Bettany and Kevin Durand so it was a win-win kind of movie in my book. I wish it would have delved a little deeper into the Gabriel/Michael relationship because those two guys are amazing actors. Their scenes were spot on and some of the best in the movie.

For challenge 26 over at picspammy , the theme was scenery and production design. IMHO, those were two elements that really made this movie pop.

Five Roles Ewan McGregor was Born to Play

No matter what kind of movie he stars in, Ewan McGregor sure knows how to get in touch with his adorkable side. Somewhere, somehow, when you least expect it, it's gonna be there. Maybe for the whole movie, maybe only for a split second, but it always shines through. These roles weren't all huge roles, but they all made a here-I-am kind of impression. So, in order of release, my top five favorite roles that Ewan McGregor was born to play. With failed commentary and failed cap coloring. My bad.

A Life Less Ordinary (1997)

I cannot lie. I have never seen this movie all the way through. Only bits and pieces here and there, but I think it's an amazing movie nonetheless. Even if the hair is awful and that shirt needs to be burned, somehow Ewan makes it all work. The premise is kinda out there in the realm of dorkiness. That doesn't detract from the adorkableness of Ewan - incognito as Robert.

Moulin Rouge! (2001)

Ah, where to start. I love everything about this movie. I love the dorky outfits, the singing, the scruff, the bling, the tragedy of it all, and the fact that Christian is a poet. I can't think about Ewan McGregor and not think about this movie. They are kinda like peanut butter and jelly, you can't enjoy one without the other. I don't think this movie would have been nearly as remarkable if someone else had played Christian. Still. I haven't seen Moulin Rouge in years (WTF it's on VHS!), but the fact that I still love it after all these years is a testament to the perfection that is McGregor. And lets not forget that singing voice. It's all over my iPod.

Black Hawk Down (2001)

Even though McGregor's screen time in this movie is depressingly slim, he is still badass as hell. Going from being stuck behind a desk to fighting for his life in a FUBAR situation, McGregor proves that he looks good even when he is covered in dirt.

The Island (2005)

I don't care what the critics say, I love this movie. I love how McGregor was given the chance to play two very different yet oh-so-the-same people. And he did it with style. Lincoln is lovable, but the other guy is a complete and utter prick. Kudos for making me love and hate him at the same time.

Angels and Demons (2009)

I'm not a fan of this movie. At. All. But I do love Ewan in a cassock. The only reason I sat through it in the first place.

The Touch of Another: A Mick/Beth Picspam

I've always been a sucker for the underappreciated, and Moonlight definitely fits into that category. Chiller ran a Moonlight marathon over Thanksgiving break and, in between massively unhealthy portions of both mac and cheese and family company, I caught most of the episodes. I instantly fell in love with Mick and eventually warmed up to Beth. There was something special about Moonlight, aside from the decided hotness of its lead actor. Alex O'Loughlin does a really amazing job as Mick. It's too bad that Moonlight was cancelled after only one season, it could have been phenomenal. It deserves more love!

Sixty years is a long time to deny yourself the touch of another. But you do it because you just can't bear the thought of seeing yourself as a monster in someone else's eyes.

Mick: Please don't look at me.
Beth: Oh my God. What are you?
Mick: I'm a vampire.

What do you do when the one thing you need to save your life is the one thing that would make life unbearable?

Maybe it was her blood in my veins that let me feel her. The beating of her very living heart. Or maybe we've always been connected. Either way... being near me puts her in danger. So it has to stop.

Not Without Incident: An Equilibrium Picspam

Equilibrium. This movie doesn't get nearly enough love. It is awesome in so many ways, and not just because it's got Christian Bale parading around in a black suit. The premise, though somewhat far fetched, is actually kinda scary if you think about it. I've never picspammed this movie before (though for the life of me I don't know why), and I am a fan of the underappreciated yet magnanimous ~~not to mention a shirtless Christian Bale~~.

Prozium - The great nepenthe. Opiate of our masses. Glue of our great society. Salve and salvation, it has delivered us from pathos, from sorrow, the deepest chasms of melancholy and hate. Due South: A Picspam in Red

It's amazing how some of the best shows are the ones you stumble onto by complete accident. Take Due South for example. I was seven when this show first aired in Canada, and I'm just now falling in love with it. Of course, this lead to majorly awesome spamage. Plus, the challenge this month over at picpammy was irresistible. So yeah.

I Can't Unlove You

I got all 7 seasons of BtVS for my birthday so I've been rewatching it starting from the beginning. Ah, I'd forgotten how much I loved the Buffy/Angel thing...the Angel thing in particular. This scene is actually kinda sad but I love it anyway.

Angel: You're shaking like a leaf.
Buffy: Cold.
Angel: Let me get you something.
He gets some things from his armoire and hands them to her.
Angel: Put these on. Get under the covers, just to warm up.

Buffy walks over to his bed and sits down. She looks up at him. He faces
away to give her privacy.

Angel: Sorry.
Buffy takes off her top shirt and winces and inhales in pain.
Angel: What?
Buffy: Oh, um... It's okay. I just have a cut or something.
Angel: Can I... Lemme see.
Buffy: (whispers) Okay.

Angel: It's already closed. You're fine.
Buffy: You almost went away today.
Angel: We both did.

4 Reasons Why Spike and Buffy Deserve Each Other

This didn't turn out like I planned, but, hey, it's Spuffy picspam so it's made of awesome regardless. Haha. The quotes don't always go with the pictures. They just kinda set the tone.

I. Buffy. She's spunky and lethal.

I'm cookie dough. I'm not done baking. I'm not finished becoming whoever the hell it is I'm gonna turn out to be. I make it through this, and the next thing, and the next thing, and maybe one day I turn around and realize I'm ready. I'm cookies. And then, you know, if I want someone to eat— or enjoy warm, delicious cookie me, then... that's fine. That'll be then. When I'm done.

II. Spike. He's, well, Spike.

We like to talk big, vampires do. I'm going to destroy the world. That's just tough guy talk. Strutting around with your friends over a pint of blood. The truth is, I like this world. You've got – the dog racing, Manchester United, and you've got people: billions of people walking around like Happy Meals with legs. It's all right here. But then someone comes along with a vision, with a real passion for destruction. Angel could pull it off. Goodbye Piccadilly, farewell Leicester bloody Square.

III. The Angst. It's a complicated love/hate relationship. Emphasis on the hate.

Spike: Buffy-
Buffy: can't understand why this is killing me, can you?
Spike: Why don't you explain it? Come on, that's it, put it on me. Put it all on me. That's my girl.
Buffy: I am not your girl! You don't... have a soul! There is nothing good or clean in you. You are dead inside! You can't feel anything real! I could never... be your girl!

IV. There is something there.

I don’t exactly have a reputation for being a thinker. I follow my blood. Which doesn’t exactly rush in the direction of my brain. I've made a lot of mistakes. A lot of wrong bloody calls. 16 Reasons Why Stargate SG-1 Is the Best Show That Never Should Have Been Cancelled

So, let's talk Stargate. I ♥ this show. Always have, always will. I was quite upset when it was cancelled, but I have every box set through season 8 so its not like I'm having withdrawals or anything. I really miss seeing new episodes. I miss scifi Fridays. This was how ~~sadly~~ my Friday nights were spent in high school. Watching new episodes of SG-1, SGA, and BSG. Haha. Why is it that networks always cancel the GOOD shows?

I say stop with all the spin offs and bring back the original. *nods* You might come close, but you just can't beat the original. Caps credit to stargatesg1971.com.
