Identify Plugins Causing the Active PHP Session Error in WordPress
We recently found an Active PHP Session error on our Site Health, and here is how you can identify the possible plugins causing it. Check your Site Health page — for that, go to Tools → Site Health. The error is: “An Active PHP session was detected.” If you click on it, you’ll see “A PHP session was created by a session_start function call.” If you see this error, we need to identify the plugins causing it.
For that, use our custom plugin. Go to Plugins → Add Plugin and upload the plugin. Then install and activate the plugin. Once activated, go to Tools → Find Session Start. Here you will see the plugins you need to check to resolve the issue. Deactivate each plugin one by one and check if the error goes away — if it does, then that plugin is the root cause. We hope this video was useful — Thank you very much!
