Sara Louise Petersen talks about performative motherhood in her hilarious, insightful way. She interviews other mothers, and she values invisible labor and stay at home motherhood. Her work is important for women to feel valued and seen in their roles of wife and mother and finding their identity beyond those limitations.
I have LOVED the series this week about the language of dating shows. The cultural conversation and how our own thinking is shaped by the shows we consume and books we read to form our notions of romantic love has been fascinating. Touched Out is a groundbreaking book as well, and I found Amanda Montei through her press tour for her book.
I enjoy the discussion of alternative family structures compared to the nuclear family- there are so many ways to make families and I appreciate Julia writhing about all these different paths to get there.
