*New* Claims Post.

You may claim the general series of Heroes which means you can use any of the characters from the show. Or you can choose a pairing, unconventional or conventional. Both characters must then be present in your story. You may choose one character. You may choose a place (ex. New York) and lastly, you may choose a group, like 'The Petrellis' that would require you including all or using one of the members of the family. Seasons and alternate universes of the show as well.

As of now crossover stories are allowed.

Please include the following information when staking a claim:

Username:
Subject: (ie character/season/pairing/general/group/etc)
Link To Table:

Community Clean-up.

Good Afternoon, everyone. I've been a horrible mod as of late. Forgive me for that.

I was going back through the community and shall be fixing a few things. I'll be adding tags, creating a new claims post and going through claims that have not been started.

I would like to ask that if you are still interested in keeping your claim to please post to this entry and let me know. Otherwise, I will open your claim for other who may wish to have it. The claim changes will not be done until May 1, so this gives you plenty of time to get back to me.

Thanks everyone! ^.^

Your Mod,
Kristi.

But something was stopping him. The cold space next to him in the bed was empty, when it should have someone in it. Someone who was currently sitting up watching yet another horror film in a desperate bid to stay awake, to escape the nightmares that plagued his sleep.

Sighing, Peter padded out of the bedroom and stopped in the doorway.

Gabriel was wrapped in a blanket, his hand propping his head up, trying to stay awake as a young man’s ankles were slashed with a knife on the television.

"Gabriel, can you please come to bed?"

Gabriel looked round at Peter, his eyes bloodshot. "I can’t. I want to, really, but every time I close my eyes-" he broke off, shuddering.

"Okay, okay, calm down. But do you have to watch Hostel? It’s horrible."

Gabriel smiled darkly. "The worse they are, the better they are as far as I’m concerned. You think Hostel’s bad? Try watching actual people you know being dragged off to have millions of drugs pumped into them."

They both fell silent, watching the guy on screen thrash about, screaming. "Gabriel. Please try. For me?"

Peter held out his hand to Gabriel, who looked at it grudgingly. He waggled his hand for emphasis and, bored with waiting, reached out and grabbed Gabriel.

"PETER! PUT ME DOWN!" Gabriel scrabbled around madly, almost causing Peter to drop him.

"Calm down you daft sod! I’m not going to hurt you!" Peter laughed but stopped suddenly when he saw Gabriel struggling to breathe. Quickly, he put him down on the ground and pulled him against his chest.

"Listen to my breathing Gabriel. In, out. In, out. Okay? Come on I know you can do this. Just breathe." Slowly, Gabriel was able to breathe on his own. He crawled away from Peter and leant against the table legs.

"Why.. did.. you do.. that? You know.. I get.. panic attacks." Gabriel’s face was flushed and his hands shook with every sentence.

Peter tried to comfort Gabriel but his efforts were rebuked. He leant back on his heels and surveyed Gabriel.

Gabriel coughed and stood up, swaying slightly. "I’m going to-." He broke off as tears welled up in his eyes. Peter moved forwards and hugged him, held him like their lives depended on it.

"Why am I being punished Peter? All I did was make a mistake and now look at me. I can’t sleep, I can’t even fucking breathe and I can’t even remember what I did 5 minutes ago!" Gabriel sobbed.

Peter didn’t say anything. Instead he just held Gabriel. Because that was all he could do. He couldn’t fix Gabriel, he couldn’t make him like he was. The past was the past and it must stay that way.

"The more things change the more they remain insane." Gabriel mumbled.

"What was that?" Peter whispered. For Gabriel had fallen asleep, actually fallen asleep, on Peter’s shoulder. Peter had thought Gabriel wanted space when they returned home. All he actually wanted was to be close to Peter, to know that he wasn’t a complete screw up.

Peter gently scooped Gabriel into his arms and carried him into their bedroom. Depositing Gabriel onto the bed, Peter climbed in beside him, gathered Gabriel up in his arms and slept peacefully.
</div></div>

His body wasn’t made for this. No male’s body was. Except for the ones who could change their body’s anatomy. There had been a man who could switch his body from male o female, have kids… the whole ten yards. And he’d inadvertently gained that power.

Sylar was trying so hard not to smirk. If only because Petrelli was so damn cute when he was mad. “I didn’t tell you to turn into a girl near the end of sex, Peter.”

A growl escapes the empath and he flings the killer across the room with his telekinesis. “Shut up!”

The killer laughs even as his back slams into the wall. But the moment he got up and walked towards Peter those features turn serious. “Calm down, Peter. Otherwise you’ll throw yourself into premature labor.”

“I am calm you son of a bitch!” The younger man growls only to find an invisible yet gentle touch on his voice box, silencing him.

“I said to calm down. I know you’re not happy with me right now. But you keep this up and you could harm yourself or our child.”

Those brown eyes stared at Sylar and his body physically relaxed. Okay… I’m calm. Can you let go now?

“Are you sure that you’re calm enough?”

I’m sure. Please, Sylar. He felt that invisible hold on his voice box let go. “Thank you, baby.” He whispers.

******

Fourteen hours later Sylar was dealing with three crying Grays. Gabriel, Peter and their new born son. “Shh… it’s okay. Everything is alright.” Oh, he was he kidding? He wasn’t cut out for this. He was horrible at it.

You’re doing great. But if you want I can take over and deal with it all. I’ll just have to teach you later.

Sylar seemed to contemplate this for a moment. Okay.

The transition was swift and smooth and Gabriel watched Peter with their son before laying down beside him, placing a gentle kiss to the empath’s forehead. “He’s beautiful.” He whispers rubbing the newborn’s back.

Peter started a moment until he realized exactly who it was. “What’re we going to name him?”

“Tyler.” He whispers even as he watched sleep take both mother and son.

Dream (Maya Hererra, pg-13)

Title: Dreams
Author: Nat
Prompt Word: Dream
Main Character(s): Maya Herrera (with Alejandro)
Rating: pg-13
Word Count: 189
Summary: The dreams never leave, no matter what
Authors Note(s): n/a

The covers were clenched in her fist as she tossed her head on the pillows beneath her. She was reliving that night over and over in her head. Her brother's wedding, what she did. The people she killed. Innocent people. She was standing outside the door that held the bodies of the bride and her lover, and looking down at the bodies on the ground in front of her. Children, men, women. She killed them all, there was no one left. She kept screaming her brother's name, hoping that he would come out of the surroundings.

Please god, please don't let him be dead. No...

When he stepped from the darkness she hugged him, crying. It wasn't how it happened however, he pushed her away, called her names and turned his back on her. He has walked away.

Maya always woke up crying from that dream, and Alejandro would spend hours running his fingers through her hair and telling her that he was never going to leave her. He was there, he'd never leave and he loved her. That he didn't blame her, but it never stopped the dreams.

Dark (Maya Hererra, pg-13)

Title: Darkness wasn't her friend
Author: Nat
Prompt Word: Dark
Main Character(s): Maya Herrera (with Alejandro)
Rating: pg-13
Word Count: 212
Summary: Darkness was always around Maya, but she didn't like the fact that it became her constant friend.
Authors Note(s): n/a

The darkness in the back of the truck was almost like a thick blanket. No one talked, everyone was too scared to. Maya kept as close to her brother as she could, her hand grasping around his arm as she read the book with what little light was available. When she couldn't see the words any longer she stared directly ahead. She knew an older male sat across from her. She could sense his fear as they went over each bump that seemed to jolt the truck and cause her to shake and lean closer to her brother.

Then the truck stopped and Maya and Alejandro were taken and talked to. When Maya was dragged away from her brother by the driver, Maya screamed. Her hands fighting to hold onto tree branches, bushes, whatever her hands would desperately cling to, she did. Then she killed them all, even the innocent people in the past and she slunk down onto the ground against the truck and cried. The darkness surrounding her again, the only sounds were her cries, there were no other sounds around the area, except the sounds of her brother approaching and then slipping down beside her to hold her.

Darkness was never Maya Herrera's friend, and it never would be.

Misunderstanding (Maya Hererra, pg-13)

Title: Don't underestimate her
Author: Nat
Prompt Word: Misunderstanding
Main Character(s): Maya Herrera (with Sylar and Alejandro)
Rating: pg-13
Word Count: 163
Summary: Maya is sick of the fighting. It ends now.
Authors Note(s):Obviously AUish.

Maya looked between Gabriel and Alejandro, the anger building up as she watched them arguing again. She didn't like it at all, they had to fight. She narrowed her eyes, then stood between the two of them, her eyes blackening and fixing on Gabriel.

"Stop"

Gabriel groaned as his head bowed down slightly "Maya, stop..please"

Maya continued, it was time they both realized that she was serious about this. Alejandro's hand went to Maya's shoulder. "Maya, stop. You're killing him."

"It's time you both realized that I am serious about this. There will be no more fighting."

Gabriel screamed, he didn't think think Maya had it in her. Apparently he was being proven wrong. She did and she was proving it to the both of them right now. She stepped back and then concentrated, ending the hold. Once it was calm she looked between the two.

"Next time I will not stop."

They didn't fight again, at least not in front of Maya.

But for a few weeks now the younger man had been late getting home. At first he’d chalked it up to Peter’s work as a nurse. But things that happened afterwards soon changed that. Mainly the nurse’s stray thoughts. It all hurt.

Gabriel had been so lost in thought when felt soft lips against his. By pure instinct, or maybe because of Sylar, he pulls away and uses his telekinesis to push the nurse back away from him.

“Gabriel?” Peter whispers stumbling back some but the confusion was clear in his voice.

Brown eyes stared into brown for a moment. It was Peter’s confusion, or act of confusion, that broke him and he got up heading to their room. There was no way he could do this anymore.

“Gabriel?” To say that the empath was confused was an understatement. He had no clue what was going on. Following him into the bedroom he stopped short at the sight before him. “Gabe?”

“It’s Gabriel.” He corrects even as he starts randomly grabbing clothes and other assorted things that were his and stuffing them into his duffle bag. Those two words that he’d just spoken to Peter had hurt and made his heart ache.

The empath couldn’t help but flinch at the correction and watched the watchmaker as he packed his bag. “What are you doing?”

He knew that Peter wasn’t that damn dense. “What’s it look like I’m doing?” He pauses for a mere moment before resuming the action of stuffing his duffle bag. “I’m leaving.”

Those two words made his heart jump into his throat. “Gabe… Gabriel…”

“Don’t Peter.” Tears pricked his brown eyes. “I’m not stupid. I’ve seen you with him. Heard your most intimate thoughts. They were all of him.” A sad smile graced his lips. “I don’t know what I did wrong. Don’t know what made you stop loving me…”

“I didn’t…”

“Yes, you did.” Gabriel whispers. Looking at the gold ring that adorned his finger he slid it off. This hurt so much that he felt like he couldn’t breathe. “So much for forever…” With those four words he lays the ring into Peter’s hand and closes his fingers over it. “Goodbye Peter Petrelli.”

“Gabriel…” Tears threatened to spill from Peter’s own brown eyes. But it was too late. Gabriel Gray was already walking out the door. Walking out of his life forever.

Days passed, a few weeks after that came and went… then the months came and he’d not heard a thing from Gabriel Gray. It was on his birthday that he finally got a call from Nathan. A call he dreaded so much.

****

“I’m sorry, Pete.” A pause, silence. “Gabriel Gray is dead.”

Heroes Prompt Table - Publilius Syrus

Title: Cold Turkey
Author: vampireonearth
Prompt Word: We desire nothing so much as what we ought not to have - Publilius Syrus
Main Character(s): Gabriel, Peter
Rating: 15, for mentions of drug use
Word Count: 1,157
Summary: "I needed it Peter. You - - You don’t understand what it’s like, to crave something. It takes over your life, your mind, and there’s nothing you can do to stop it."

Climbing out of the taxi, Peter glanced up at the large brass sign. It read "Stanley’s House for Drug and Alcohol Addiction." This was where Gabriel had been for the last 3 weeks, after he had been admitted to hospital for drug addiction.

Today was the first time Peter would have seen Gabriel for 3 and a half weeks, so he was naturally nervous. He had no idea how Gabriel was coping in this place. Would he recognise Peter? Or would he have forgotten him completely?

Walking up to the front gate, Peter saw a few people wandering the grounds. There was a man in a wheelchair with a drip attached being pushed by a stern looking woman, two men walking together discussing something, and a woman talking to a tree.

The last one really unnerved Peter.

Above the entrance, there was a plaque, bearing the words "We desire nothing so much as what we ought not to have."

Entering the building, Peter walked towards the receptionist and smiled.

"Hi, I’m here to see Gabriel Gray?"

The woman leant towards her computer and scrolled through the register. "Gray.. Gray.. Yeah, here he is. Room 112. Just down the hall."

Peter thanked her and followed the signs that would lead him to Gabriel’s room.

He stopped in front of Room 112 and rested his hand on the doorknob, before remembering to knock.

A voice from within the room called out. "Come in."

Peter entered and was instantly hugged by a sobbing wreck he recognised as his boyfriend.

Gabriel couldn’t have looked more different than from when Peter last saw him. His head had been shaved so all that was left was black stubble, his hands had been bandaged and his eyes were bloodshot.

"OhmygodPeterit’syouIthoughtyouweregoingtoleavemehereforeverneverdothatpleasepromisemeneverdothat!" Gabriel babbled, his arms trapping Peter in a vice grip.

"Gabriel, it’s good to see you too but I need to talk to you properly." Peter struggled and was instantly released by Gabriel, who stood back and glanced at Peter with worried eyes.

A knock on the door scared Gabriel and he darted across the room towards the window, clutching at his arms.

Peter turned towards to the door, just as a nurse stuck her head in. "Oh, Mr Petrelli, I wanted to speak to you before you saw him. Can.. Can you come out here please?"

Peter glanced back at Gabriel, who was muttering to himself. He left the room and closed the door behind him.

"Nurse? What happened to his hands?"

She shook her head sympathetically. "Couldn’t tell you. He had just had one of his counselling sessions and he got a bit upset. So I had to put him in confinement until he calmed down. Next thing I know, he’s in the infirmary with burnt hands. The doctor said it was very bad but I have no idea how he managed it"

Radiation. The thought floated across Peter’s mind before he had a chance to stop it. Nathan had told him not to tell the nurses about Gabriel’s powers. He said it would just make it worse.

"How is he coping? He seems - - I dunno, different. Like he’s not Gabriel any more, he’s someone else."

"Well, when someone has a bad reaction to drugs, they normally stop using them. But Gabriel didn’t. The first time he tried drugs, he suffered a very bad reaction. But by then, he was hooked. The amount of damage he’s done to his nervous system, not to mention everything else – I don’t think he’s ever going to get back to normal."

The nurse patted Peter on the shoulder and turned to leave.

"Wait! How bad is it? The damage, I mean. Is it always going to be like this?"

"If you mean is Gabriel ever going to get better, then I’m afraid not. Gabriel will suffer from panic attacks, headaches, paranoia and memory loss. The man you knew will never be back, Peter. He’s gone."

The nurse walked back to her post and left Peter alone in the corridor to let the extent of Gabriel’s injuries sink in.

It was one thing to see Gabriel like that. It was another thing to hear it.

Peter went back into Gabriel’s room and did what he had wanted to do since he and Nathan found Gabriel.

He slapped him. Hard.

Gabriel recoiled, one hand pressed to his cheek. Part of Peter wanted to hold him, to tell him it was alright. The other part wanted to scream and shout at Gabriel, ask him what the hell he thought he was doing.

Tears spilled down Gabriel’s face. He hissed in pain as he attempted to wipe them with his burnt hands.

"Why Gabriel?" Peter’s anger cooled and he sat on Gabriel’s bed, linking his hands and trying not to look at Gabriel.

"I needed it Peter. You - - You don’t understand what it’s like, to crave something. It takes over your life, your mind, and there’s nothing you can do to stop it." Somewhere, in among all the jumbled thoughts, there was a part of Gabriel shining through that Peter recognised.

"Then try to get better. It’s the least you can do. These people are here to help you, they want you to get better as much as I do! Why can’t you just be like you were?"

Gabriel laughed, a dark and sinister sound. "If it was that simple, I would have been out of here weeks ago. Do you have any idea what they do to you? They strap you down, inject you with fluids, give you pills meant for psychopaths and make you relive every single painful moment in your life. Then they expect you to act normal so when people visit this place, they go away thinking ‘Oh what a wonderful thing they’re doing for these addicts’ Well, it’s NOT LIKE THAT!"

Peter was speechless. He had actually thought this place was doing Gabriel some good. Instead they were treating him like an animal. That - - That was unacceptable.

No one did that to his Gabriel, no one.

Peter stood so suddenly, Gabriel flinched. Remembering what the nurse said about paranoia, Peter calmed him by wrapping his arms around Gabriel and allowing him to burrow his head into Peter’s shoulder, like he had done when this all started,

"Gabriel, I’m going to get you out of here, okay? But I need you to do one thing for me." Peter pulled back so he could see Gabriel’s face.

Gabriel nodded.

"I need you to trust me. I’m sorry about putting you in here, I honestly thought it’d do you some good. Forgive me?"

Gabriel smiled and kissed Peter, a short and sweet kiss, that showed exactly how vulnerable Gabriel was at the moment.

Peter walked him over to the window, gathered Gabriel up in his arms, opened the window with his telekinesis, and flew them both home.

Where they belonged.
</div></div>

Hadn’t Sylar been through this before? Except this time it hadn’t been Hiro. No, it had been Adam.

“Gabriel!”

He felt strong hands grab a hold of him and hold him close. Felt pressure being pressed against the wound in his chest. A wound that still held a sword within it.

“Stay with me. I’m going to pull it out.” The empath states even as he puts a hand on the hilt of the sword.

“No.” The watchmaker chokes out, blood coming to his lips staining them. His voice sounded weak even to himself. He couldn’t imagine how weak it sounded to Peter.

Peter presses his hand against the wound harder, the sharp edge of the blade cutting into his hand. “Yes.” And before his lover could protest the action, he pulls the sword out. Even as he does he watches as Gabriel’s blood spills out over his hand.

A slight cry escapes Gabriel’s lips and he could feel the darkness trying to pull him under, his brown eyes already closing.

“NO! Stay awake!” He yells pushing that healing energy into his dying lover. He hadn’t told Nathan about being around Linderman or about gaining the man’s ability to heal. Not when it didn’t really matter. Except for some reason this time it didn’t seem to be working. “Please…”

“I love you, Peter.”

Tears pricked the younger man’s eyes as the watchmaker took in his last breath, his body going limp in Peter’s arms. “I love you too.” Even as he heard the sirens in the distance he didn’t budge. He couldn’t budge. Or maybe he just didn’t want to. Voices were heard and he just held the dead body closer to him, his eyes transfixed on the blood that covered his hands. He’d lost him. The one person who meant the world to him lay in his arms... dead.

Title: Power
Author: SinfulTragedies (Nat)
Prompt Word: power
Main Character(s): Maya Herrera with mention of Alejandro Herrera and Gabriel Gray/Sylar.
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 177 Words
Summary: She wasn't always like this.
Authors Note(s): don't own her, trying to get a voice for her again..

Maya didn't always have these powers. She was once a girl with dreams and had a strong bond with her brother. She did well in school and actually had a good life. Until her brother met her. She didn't trust this girl, there was just something about her. She had reason to, something just wasn't right.

She regretted killing her, but she didn't know what happened. She didn't know what happened. She didn't see this as a power, she saw it as a curse put upon her. Something that she deserved because she did something wrong. Why else would God do this to her? He did it to punish her. Alejandro was there at her side, going to New York with her to get her better. To see Doctor Suresh and get her well again, take what was wrong and fix it.

She didn't ask for this, she would never ask for this. She also thought that somehow it would work out in the end, that this power would go away, and she would be alright again.

Title: Temptation
Author: SinfulTragedies (Nat)
Prompt Word: regret
Main Character(s): Maya Herrera with mention of Alejandro Herrera and Gabriel Gray/Sylar.
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 330 Words
Summary: Sylar was Maya's biggest temptation.
Authors Note(s): don't own her, trying to get a voice for her again..

He was there now at every turn, keeping his eye on her as she would walk. When she would speak in a soft hushed whisper to her brother in Spanish. Oh, he knew full well they were talking about him, he could hear his name spoken every now and then. Most of the time from Alejandro's mouth. It didn't effect him, no, not at all. Contrary he found it somewhat flattering. He could get to know Spanish by just listening to them. He figured soon enough as Alejandro heard English being spoken between Maya and himself, that he would start to understand it and speak it himself. He had that feeling in his gut. It made him smirk at the power he had over the two. Oh, they would both be his. He already had Maya right where he wanted her. Eating out of the palm of his hand. He had her trust, but he didn't have Alejandro's. He would soon. He knew that.

He traced his hand along Maya's arm and she looked over to him and gave a small smile before returning her faze to the road in front of them.He felt the skin raise into small goosebumps when he did it. He was her temptation, and he had a hold on her that she just didn't know about, or did she? He didn't know nor did he really care.

When they stopped to rest at a hotel room and he had Alejandro to himself for a while, he seduced the boy, leaving him walking out to his own room he shared with Maya in a daze. He only smirked and then looked behind him as the door knocked again. He perked a brow, answering it and wasn't really surprised when it was Maya standing in his doorway. He coaxed her in and then smirked slightly when her back was turned.

Oh yes, Gabriel was Maya's temptation, and he was about to give her exactly what she wanted.
