Notes for that one thread @ G_L

This is a mass PM you're receiving because you're part of Rinzler's terrorism thread. This is for anyone who still wants to join the thread.

This will probably get TL;DR, but you're getting this message just in case anyone wanted to know what happened to refer to later in game. This way you don't have to wade through the actual posts themselves. Also, after the timeline is a link to a new post in that thread if you want your characters to react to what has just happened. You can ignore everything after the link if you want to.

A rough time line that's been set up:
- Primary explosion happens
- Tron (Tronja) and Lee head to the building together
- Lee talks to Rinzler via comm networks and is hung up on.
- Anon, Flynn (the_gamemaster), the Trons (fight4theusers and alan1_tron), and the Kleinbergs (Ram, Wulf, Roy, Eric) get there and do their helpful hero thing [and it is beautiful!] Clu2 (clu2_perfection) oversees the damage and Tron (Tronja) goes to help other victims.
- Bored with stalking Anon's helpfulness, Rinzler goes off to harass the Kleinbergs *5-4*
- Leaving them, Rinzler meets up with a reintegrated Flynn *4*
- Going back to the building to check up on things, Rinzler finds and bothers Wulf because he didn't like his attitude *4-3*
- Flynn (creator_man) saves Wulf, but Wulf loses his disc to Rizler *3*
- Clu_1 and Fire meanwhile, have gotten on the scene and are trying to save the building
- Shortly after, Lee, Wulf, and Bit come to help these guys and find a whole bunch of hidden bombs
- Meanwhile, Rinzler in a bad mood, meets Anon who tries to steal Wulf's disc back. They fight and Rinzler gets pissy. *3-2*
- Lizor finishes his work shift and arrives on the scene to be helpful too *2-1*
- The bomb squad (Bit, Clu_1, Fire, and Lee) find even more bombs as Rinzler trolls them. The team goes to epically outrun the soon to be explosion, grabbing who they can, and Wulf joins the running pack.*1-0*
- And then Rinzler pulls a jerk move and detonates the second explosion. It is super effective, but not as effective as the bomb team would have thought. The question is why.

[Remember you don't need to read this part] TL;DR on what's going on with that second explosion and all that Rinzler trolling:

When the ground team is nearly done neutralizing the first cluster of bombs, they find a second cache of about 2000 new ones. Now, we know that it probably took under five bombs to take out the entire End of Line Club, so 2000 would probably take out an entire sector, and Rinzler along with it, right?
Well the majority of these explosives are practice duds. They all have the same code as a functional bomb, but that won't detonate when they finish count down. Rinzler has a few reasons why he set this up.

The apartment building was going down in 2 hours, anyway (as noted by Fire). There was no saving it, so there's really no harm (past the psychological) in finishing the job (building wise). The explosion that happens is pretty contained, all things considered, and it doesn't take out any neighbouring edifices, so the only people that get hurt and those still on scene, and as Rinzler sees : too dumb to leave (not useful), incapable of leaving due to injury (no longer useful), or too weak to take necessary precautions and protect themselves (not useful). A few will derezz due to bad luck, but that's a necessary cost.

The duds look impressive (and there's merit in that alone) but they should also function to keep people from messing with the actual live rounds (the fireworks.) Not gonna lie either, but they're also there to troll the few programs that take it into their head to try and dismantle the first cache – because you do NOT try to best Rinzler. He hopes they get a good fright, and assumes they have what is coming to them.

The mass of bombs do promise to take out a lot more than just the building, and Rinzler also hopes that word gets out to emergency lines, since he still wants to measure how well the Grid can handle this. Don't forget that was the main reason why he did this all in the first place. And because bombs inherently have a time limit, he wants to see how quickly the remedial reaction time is. One disaster is something he won't put past what the Grid can handle, but start piling up the problems, and you get a better idea of how a system can handles stress. [So this is pretty much a computer stress-test hahaha]

The fireworks are there for a lot of reasons too:
They show that this wasn't an accident, they're less destructive than the bombs he used in the main explosion, they're flashy (and Rinzler is all about peacocking), they should hopefully get someone's attention, they're what go off in a celebration at the games (and Rinzler sees what he's doing as very worthy of celebrating), and finally, let's not underestimate the importance of the colour.

Also, one last important note: Rinzler is just a huge jerk too, even if he sees his actions as justifiable. So there's that reason too. Hahah.
