What is sipgate trunking?

sipgate trunking connects your VoIP phone system to the public telephone network via sipgate.

Update: The trunking detail page has been tidied up and made clearer.

sipgate trunking connects your VoIP telephone system to the public telephone network via sipgate. Instead of registering each individual phone, the entire telephone system is registered for VoIP communication. The connection works for incoming and outgoing calls just like a normal PBX/PMx connection.

Since we support the SIP standard, all dialed numbers in your telephone system can be evaluated, and any caller ID can also be set for outgoing calls. You also have a wide selection of end devices to choose from. If you have any questions about setting up the end devices, please contact the system manufacturer.

Further information can be found in our product description sipgate trunking.

What happens with trunk in and trunk out?

With trunk in, incoming and outgoing calls take place over the Internet; a landline connection is no longer required. If you want to continue using your existing number range, you must port the numbers to sipgate for this.

With trunk out, the PBX connection can remain on the landline. Incoming calls are then delivered as usual via the landline. Only outgoing calls use the sipgate connection. Outgoing calls thus take place over the Internet, while the landline number can be signaled. The called party sees no difference from a call over the landline.

Which trunking plans are available?

The various Trunking contracts differ in the number of usable channels. This means that the number of possible parallel calls is fixed in the respective contract.

With sipgate trunking, you have the choice between three different contract models:

  • sipgate trunking 2 - includes 2 channels (incoming) and 100 outgoing calls.

  • sipgate trunking 10 - includes 10 channels (incoming) and 100 outgoing calls.

  • sipgate trunking 50 - includes 50 channels (incoming) and 100 outgoing calls.

The contracts each have a term of one month. A contract can be terminated for the following month. A contract change is possible at any time and very easily with a click. A detailed price list and further information can be found on our website.

An overview of your sipgate trunks can be found in the logged-in area under Account managementTrunks. On this overview page all set up trunks are listed. Here you can also see the most important information such as location, status, used call minutes, and set call blocks at a glance.

With one click on one of the available trunks, you can view further details such as emergency call location, fallback number, as well as all numbers assigned to the trunk. Individual trunks can be selected on the overview page, renamed, and deleted with a click if needed.

The numbers of the individual trunks are now displayed sorted in an expandable menu. New is also that the online status of the individual trunks is displayed. In addition, we have improved the selection of numbers for individual trunks. From now on, it is possible to see which numbers are already occupied and which are still available. Additionally, booking new numbers has also been simplified here.

The trunk detail page can now also be viewed on tablets and smartphones without any problems.
