Use ROLLER Discount Codes in Patch Blasts

For ROLLER integrated accounts, you can tag a discount code in a Patch Blast and place that code directly into your email content and track conversions.

How to add a discount code to a blast

  1. Go to Blasts

  2. Open an existing unsent Blast or create a new one

  3. Move to the step where you edit the blast details or content

  4. Open Send Settings

  5. Click Tag Discount

  6. Enter the ROLLER discount code you want to use (make sure it matches the name in ROLLER)

  7. Save your changes

How to place the discount code in the message

After the discount is tagged:

  1. Open the message editor

  2. Click where you want the discount code to appear

  3. Use INSERT menu > Discount Code to add the code to the message

  4. Save the Blast

Example email

Subject: Your special offer is here

Hi ,

We have a special offer for you.

Use code at checkout.

We hope to see you soon.

Best practices

  • Double-check that the correct discount is tagged before scheduling or sending the blast.

  • Add a short explanation so customers know what the code is for.

  • If you want Patch to track conversions by the tagged code, make sure both boxes in Settings > Conversions/Attribution are unchecked before sending.

  • Use a unique discount code name for each Blast for easier tracking across campaigns.

Troubleshooting

I do not see the discount code in the message

Make sure the discount was added in Send Settings and also inserted into the message content.

The wrong discount is attached

Go back to Send Settings, update the tagged discount, and then review the content again.

Conversions are being attributed by orders or check-ins instead

Go to Settings > Conversions/Attribution and make sure both boxes are unchecked. If either box is selected, Patch may not use the tagged discount code for attribution.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a discount code in every blast?

You can use one whenever the account is connected to ROLLER and the discount exists in ROLLER.

> Best practice is to use a discount code with a name that is unique to that Blast for easier tracking across campaigns.

Does tagging the discount automatically place it in the message?

No. You still need to insert the discount code into the content where you want it to appear.

Does tagging a discount code change how conversions are tracked?

Yes. When a discount code is tagged in the message, Patch uses that code for conversion attribution instead of orders or check-ins.
