Questions about the Captain

This pic is the cutest thing I've see all day.

But anyway.

I was browsing DeviantArt for pictures of the Captain, and one author's notes said that he's mute. I'm wondering if there's any official basis for this, or are they assuming he's mute because he . . . well . . . never talks?

Certainly brings to mind interesting ideas . . .

And I'm working on the intelligent fic, I swear I am.

But not now. Because I'm in class. ^_^
