All right, y'all.

This Monday Missives almost became a Tuesday Tidings, but instead it's a Thursday Throwback (because that’s when I put this together—last Thursday).

Why? Because I decided to take this Monday off. Given that my big road trip starts in less than a week (from date of this post coming out), I cleared the decks, and removed the pressure. After all, I have not really taken any meaningful time off (including most weekends) since April (because a part of me still does not feel entitled to do that as a solopreneur who is just getting started…something to work on).

The Stories That Sparkle is a reader-supported publication and listener-supported podcast. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

So, instead of a written piece, I am offering this little video of what happened when I went to record on-site last Wednesday in the Virginia country side. It was a good lesson on many different levels (hint: I made a mistake that turned out to be a win even if I felt mortified by it).

fresh tomatoes from Patti’s Place…in a future episode of the pod, you will hear from the owner Jaclyn, mom, wife and farmer, about how she aims to bring regenerative farming into the mainstream by letting it begin with her.

And yes, it is cheeky of me to put the video behind a paywall…if you’re a free subscriber or a visitor, you can claim your one-time free post and watch it (as a sample of the “Behind the Scenes” content I post for my paid subscribers). There will be more of these (not in “Monday Missives,” I promise) coming to you while I am on the road in September. So, claim your free post and decide if you want to get (or upgrade to) a paid subscription. Dealer’s choice.

I'll be back next week with a proper written Monday Missives (including my usual run down of what I did, where I did it, and what I listened to while I did it) that I will write, on-site, in Nashville, Tennessee—the first stop on my four week leg tour…a four leg week tour…the first leg of a four leg tour? Whatever. You know what I mean. Remember: English is my second language.

Thanks for being here. Thanks for reading along. Thanks for understanding that this week is a little different. And thanks for all the support in all the ways.

Big love to y'all, and see you on the road!

ps—because it’s my favorite part about the Monday Missives, I did keep the Monday Meditation.

8.25.25 Monday Meditation:

When I stand for myself, I neither take from someone else what is theirs to hold nor give to someone else what is mine to change. I make space for the beauty, joy and dignity of our differences.
