Science may provide answers, but it is not THE answer. Believing in "science" is called scientism. Science is not the Answer punches holes in scientism contagion. Plus, William writes some really funny stuff. We use his statistics book for homeschooling.
These guides are a huge help to me and certainly require a great dedication of time and love by Jacob. A subscription is worth every penny to the homeschool parent or autodidact.
Mr. Gudmundsson's autodidactic newsletter is now among favorites. His work presumes you can figure a few things out on your own, which you likely can if you are reading this. This would be a great newsletter for a homeschooling family.
Too often, I fill my reading day with the dire, the dark, the urgent and I tire of it all. I know I will feel better if I read anything Ricki writes for us. You should read it, too.
Fr. Thomas' reverent and scholarly newsletter will persuade the doubtful and embolden the weak. And we are all doubtful and weak.
Stephen Kent's excellent site. Mr. Kent's self-effacing insights, often within the frame of The Force and classical stoicism, bring perspective to the day.
Book review sites are special in that they don't merely entertain and inform, but may save you real money and time. Leonard reviews books on subjects that interest me (and I have too many interests) and therefore he does the reading, and maybe the suffering, so I don't have to. I highly recommend you read Leonard before you splurge $40 on another recent release.
