easy, not image heavy tutorial

It looks far more complicated than it is, but it turned out pretty, therefore I'm sharing. Also, if this is absolute drivel, please let me know, I'm currently a zombie with no sleep who's really too tired to be writing this.

Today we shall be making this!

Credit for this pretty shall be given to the artistic talents of ca_pris (sensi_incanto I just put it together after getting some of her stuff. it's nice stuff, you should go see it.

What you will need:
Spiffy thing #1
Spiffy thing #2
this shiny texture

First off, make a new file. I made this one 1000x335, with a black background for default. Take the shiny texture, and paste it into the left hand side.

Make a duplicate copy of that, and flip it horizontally. Edit>Transform>Flip Horizontal. Use your move tool to scoot it on over to the opposite side. There should be a black bar left in the middle.

New Layer! Paste spiffy thing number one onto it! Take your magic eraser, and just click it on your excess white around the image, and move it around to your liking. I prefered it a little closer to the top than strictly centered, to offset the heavier designs on the bottoms of the textures.

Take your picture, I used this one of Christina Cole(I desaturated my pic and brightened it, you don't have to--I just like blues and black and white images. do whatever you like best), and use your elipse tool. Select out your circle you want to go in the design on the left. Right click it, and choose 'Make Selection'. Delete your shape layer, the selected area will remain selected.

Use your move tool to take the selected circle and put it onto spiffy thing #2. Use Edit>Free Transform to size it down to fit into the circle there. Hold shift while you're adjusting so it doesn't distort on you. Once you have it placed, set the layer to Darken.

Flatten the image, then paste it into a new layer on your header-image. I placed it over on the left side, and set it to Darken.

For the image on the right, I took the picture of Christina un-resized, desaturated it, and pasted it in over the right texture. I set it to Linear Light. My picture was a little too big for the panel, and I wanted a softer edge around the black bar in the center, so I added a mask layer, and used a black-to-clear gradient to fade it out.

And that's pretty much it. Add text if you'd like, or any other accents you might fancy, and you're done. I hope this wasn't pointless!
