Welcome to the Harrisburg Area YMCA Race Series — some of the highest quality, family friendly and competitive running events in the region. This series supports the Harrisburg Area YMCA, a cause-driven and charitable organization that provides programs for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility throughout the Capital Region. Come out and support your community YMCA by running in one race or the whole series. Who knows, maybe you can even qualify for the Boston Marathon at the YMCA Harrisburg Marathon.
This fun and challenging event will offer our runners the chance to try a non-conventional distance, or revisit a classic. Choose from a Half, Quarter, or Eighth Marathon, all culminating in the post-race party at the beautiful Harrisburg Beach Club on City Island. Enjoy scenic views of gorgeous Harrisburg City and the Susquehanna River throughout your run. Whether your goal is to try something new or get that PR, a memorable experience awaits.
We’re celebrating the 45th Annual YMCA Harrisburg Mile presented by First National Bank! The Harrisburg Mile has been an annual city-wide celebration event in Harrisburg since 1981. Dubbed “Summer’s Best Mile” this flat, fun course has something for everyone. The summer’s best celebration will be held this year, and we can’t wait to see you on the course!
Get ready for a one-of-a-kind back-to-school celebration at the YMCA Milkshake Mile. This is a fun, energetic, and flavor-filled race event hosted by the Friendship YMCA! Whether you’re a serious runner, a casual walker, or just in it for the milkshakes, there’s something for everyone. Kick off the school year in style! We’ll be giving away backpacks and offering loads of family-friendly fun.
The YMCA Harrisburg Half Marathon course starts and finishes on City Island, running along the scenic Riverfront Park in the downtown Harrisburg community. It’s an ideal course that’s friendly for runners of all abilities — beginners enjoy the lack of elevation while more experienced runners strive for personal bests. As we celebrate our 30th year, the YMCA Harrisburg Half has experienced tremendous growth and is quickly becoming one of the most loved running events in Central Pennsylvania.
With our friends at Tröegs Independent Brewing, we’ve provided this fun 5K in the Harrisburg/Hershey area since 2016. Swag includes sweet, exclusive Tröegs merch, beer, and a fun day at the brewery. We can’t wait to see you on the course!
Celebrate 54 years of the YMCA Harrisburg Marathon, Half & Relay, presented by Enders Insurance! This Boston-qualifier has been affectionately dubbed the “Mini-Boston” — not just in being a stepping stone to one of the most prestigious races in the country, but because Harrisburg’s heart comes alive as thousands of runners and spectators cheer you on throughout the course all the way to the finish line. This fast, flat marathon winds through urban street, forested paths, across bridges, and through natural features unique to Pennsylvania’s capital city on the river.
The Harrisburg Area YMCA offers programs, services and initiatives focused on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, according to the unique needs of the communities it engages. Together we provide a place for sports and play among youth, fitness and well-being among adults and social opportunities for seniors. We pride ourselves in being accessible to all people and financial assistance is offered to individuals and families that cannot afford membership.
