As a Software Engineer Intern at Bear Robotics, I advanced the navigation capabilities of the “Servi” autonomous serving robot. I focused on implementing graph-based SLAM and evaluating Visual SLAM algorithms to improve the robot’s mapping and localization.

Projects

My work at Bear Robotics involved two primary projects: implementing graph-based SLAM and evaluating Visual SLAM algorithms.

For the graph-based SLAM project, I integrated a more robust, noise-tolerant graph SLAM algorithm onto the “Servi” autonomous delivery robot, moving away from the previous filter-based approach. For the Visual SLAM project, I conducted experiments to apply and evaluate open-source algorithms like UcoSLAM and ORB-SLAM3 on the robot.
