The party - part deux
As promissed the "detailed" report of last night's party.
So I had arranged to meet up with
nefariouscory and
clsa at the Blackout Project party, in the Pakhuis Afrika in Amsterdam. Remember what I've said in a previous post about "getting there not being a problem"? Well, I take it back. As usual I had consulted one of those highly popular route planners and thus I arrived at Amsterdam Central Station, where things went horribly wrong. After wandering around for a short while I had found the bus the computer had advised me to take. Yet after consulting with the driver I was surprised to find out that the bus didn't even go anywhere near where I was headed. And so he directed me towards another bus. The driver there told me that he would indeed "stop closeby". So I hopped on.
After two minutes I could see the Pakhuis Afrika, yet there seemed to be no stop located near it. So I patiently awaited a signal from the driver, as he'd promissed to give one. To my surprise we suddenly turned and after about a five minute drive, through what seemed like half of Amsterdam, he dropped me off about three kilometers from where I had to be! >_<
So I took this unforeseen "excercise" and arrived about half an hour late at the party place. Met Cory's sister at the door and greeted her mom at the wardrobe. They directed me to the T-shirt sale, where the girls were supposed to be. And thus I met up with selderaya and finally met the infamous clsa in real life. Of course I immediately jumped at the chance (read "was forced") to buy one of those shirts. Nifty things though. :D
What followed thereafter was mostly random stuff. As it turned out the girls were stuck at T-shirt sale for the rest of the evening. Though after a short stumble through the seperate party-room we quickly concluded that selling T-shirts for the rest of the night wasn't that bad a job. Sadly the noise didn't really allow for much of a conversation and to make matters worse Cory got a sore throat halfway through the night. And from what I take the smoke and the level of noise also had their effects on the girls. *hugs* I hope the two of you are feeling better now. ;)
Anyway a few hours later it was time to leave. As I had to catch the bus I decided to tag along back to Central Station. After having to wait for about an hour, watching some pretty funky Japanese film, we were on our way home. One problem remained: Cory really needed to go. And as I had used the "toilets" at the Pakhuis Afrika, I can tell you even the toilet at
pegla's place seems like bliss compared to those! XD
Thus we decided our best option was to hit the toilet at Central Station. At first we tried entering through the back, only to find out the doors where closed there. Rushing towards the front of the building I checked at another place I knew. Closed as well, and as I came back it turned out the girls had already gone inside the main hall. Cory managed to persuade the staff to let her use the toilet on the platforms without having to get a ticket, partly due to a certain print on her shirt. ^_^ After a few seconds we learned that she didn't have any money on her, so I rushed after her and managed to deliver the 50 cents she needed to get through the automatic doors of the restroom.
And thus the day was saved and everybody was relieved. Tired and totally worn out but relieved. We said our goodbyes and I hopped onto the first bus that came by. So in short, getting there turned out to be far more troublesome compared to getting back, I'm tired and I take it the girls as well, though it was really nice to see selderaya again and finally meet clsa. Though next time we meet up I'd suggest going somewhere where we could talk and actually hear what we're all saying to eachother. ^_~
Peace out all!
