The rain was clattering against the roof. Outside all was grey. The world had seemed so bright the day before, it was as if the world reflected his own inner feelings. Being apart from his friends was always a downer. But life went on, and if there was one thing he could be sure of, it was that he would surely meet up with them again soon.

Yet today was a day meant to be spend in bed. And so he did, turning over yet another time. And thus several hours passed by. The rain didn't seem to stop and in a split second it was decided that he would skip classes for today. As he finally got up and went downstairs the house was empty. Skipping breakfast he skimmed through the news and his e-mail. The next few hours were spent on random things, of which none were actually of any use to him. Anxiously he awaited the time his family would return home. When there would be life around him again.

For now he just pondered, wondered and dreamt. Of life, of school, of his friends, both old and in particular new. And though nothing of importance that day had happened, it sure was a day to remember. One to treasure.
