Am a rock?
Haven't listened to Amarok in quite a while. I had already forgotten how much I once felt it represented me, who I was. Or how it inspired me, all the visuals I got in my head whilst listening to this music. There even was a time when I could hum or whistle the entire 60 minute record from memory. That helped to keep me occupied on the way to and from high school. :) Same goes for quite a lot of the more lenghty Mike Oldfield records.
Those were young, careless times. When I was still in wonder of what the future might hold and how pleasant the present was. Not that I'm no longer curious about what may be, but life has only gotten to be so much more interesting that the "now" sometimes beckons more than the "later".
I'm sure Amarok would drive a few I know quite insane, as it at first seems but an incoherent mess. But it still is all music to my ears, and quite seems in tune with my current line of thinking.
Plus it's a killer test for your soundsystem as, given the right settings, it will push your bass to its limits at certain points. :P
Roasted marshmallow -
sturdy outside, soft inside
just don't let me burn
